The 18 workers were fired by ACORN before investigations. They had been hired to go out into the public and register voters, they chose instead to fill out the forms themselves with fake names. ACORN flagged the forms themselves, by law that was all they could do because you can't discard filled out voter registration forms.

They're going to die anyways, making abortion illegal doesn't stop it from happening. There's numerous reasons for it, partially because many of us don't view it as murder or even killing, partially because people look towards self preservation even above their morals, and partially because some people just don't want kids and they sometimes get pregnant anyways.

The way I see it, abortions are still going to happen. We can either let them happen, or we can have policies like this that allow some good to come out of them.
