The feeble-minded human being fears and therefore resists change
. This inalienable trait is evinced in all aspects of our species' behaviours
-- from the opposition to the conjoinment of same-sex partners or ending the "war on drugs", to aspects of human life as fundamental as simply eating
food that's good for one's health or sharing wealth and prosperity with all.
The path of least resistance
is to remain unchanged
and human beings are indeed mired in stagnancy. It is a cancer that afflicts the
majority of minds; some more than others, but all suffer from it. It is the quintessential foible of our species and accounts for the hundreds of
thousands of years of evolutionary inaction which led up to the sudden industrial renaissance that virtually overnight brought us into the Computer
Imagine a 'cure' for this congenital, malignant malady, how far we could have
come and how far we could yet go...
