... or generators in dumpy city parks, or dance studio afterparties

yea, i must be

I recall telling some teens some of my stories and they were floored we actually attempted some of the feats. I think maybe 97-2000 was a bit like 67-1970 or something, we were pretty nuts.

You are thinking of 88 - 89 which is also called the "Second Summer of Love". Though I'm sure y'all got into your fair share of craziness.

The music of this era fused dance beats with a psychedelic, 1960s flavour, and the dance culture drew parallels with the hedonism and freedom of the Summer of Love in San Francisco two decades earlier. Similarities with the Sixties included fashions such as Tie-dye. The smiley logo is synonymous with this period in the UK.

Well that wave started in Europe first, then came to the states. It was on the east and west coast in the early 90s, and hit Texas in mid to late 90s where I reside. My first rave happened in 96.

I believe you. I'm not calling you a liar or anything, but there really WAS what is called a second summer of love.

I actually wish I was older, would have loved to experience the 80s/90s raves, it was a special time! frigging rubbish now!

That was a feat for me, in that video I had been awake 3 days no sleep, eating caffeine pills like candy, anyway after 3 hours non stop jumping around on the main floor then in the Gabber room I somehow fell asleep on the floor somewhere lol

You just need to go to the right venues. I went to Hulaween last year down at Swannee music park. The vibe and crowd were just AWESOME. But then again, String Cheese Incident fans tend to be like that.

Last time I was in a dance club, the band wore matching outfits and the women wore dresses while the men wore ties.

And there were saxaphones and claranettes.

And we had just defeated Germany.

AND We had to walk butt naked BARE FOOT through forty miles of snow

yeah yeah we know those stories ...

Sir i would even believe you if you said you were a complete gentleman back then...

but I have a feeling you would run but naked through a beach with your lady in broad day light !!!!!

!!!!! now we don’t do those things anymore !!!

Shaking your rump ?????

I read your posts (a lot of very deep stuff) I was not expecting this answer

you are funny too
? shocked me kind of impressed right now

Ha! Yes, I promise I do have a lighthearted side too, believe it or not. It doesn't always come across because I tend towards a highly formal writing style (probably due to being on the autistic spectrum - can't help it, and usually am not conscious of it.) But I'm not all dour and soulful 24/7 I assure you lol.

Peace.

Horizontal dancing is fine.
Slow dancing is fine.
Moshing is fine.
Skanking is fine.

Actual proper dancing - not a chance.

Had many nights clubbing dancing to house and edm in my youth, mostly fuelled by illicit substances, but hey, you're only young once right and I really, really did not care how I looked.
And frankly neither did anyone else.
Generally speaking I think guys are most definitely more self conscious.

Most guys i know who don't dance, don't because as soon sas they do, women take the piss anyway lol......so it's kind of "sod this" and go to tha bar instead....or just not bother in the first place

Make a thread that says women are too afraid to do anything and the backlash would be huge.
