What i don't get is at some point during the video she said she was grabbing a rake? and the guy put the gun down to get the rake out of her hand?
so she then grabbed the gun and shot him...i guess it can happen, but in true noir fashion, it's a bit difficult to believe

Judging from the contents of his car, the gun was just for compliance. Seems the good stuff was for later. A hidden location, assumedly.
