All of those "Christians" at your church who cheat, lie, steal, etc... are false converts. If one truly believes in Christ, then they will live a life of faith and repentance. Faith and repentance are two sides to the same coin. Salvation is by cthrough faith, it is not of ourselves-not of works, it is the gift of God, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)

It is certainly true that salvation is a free gift, and there is nothing anyone can do to earn it. God's standard is perfection, and every human falls short, except for one... Jesus Christ, because He was fully God and man, and through faith in His finished work on the cross we put on His perfect righteousness. God treated Jesus as if He lived your life and mine, and through faith in Him God treats us as if we lived His. That is the gospel in a nutshell. If you truly believe that then you will live a changed life, not to earn salvation, but because of salvation. James 2 says that faith without works is dead, so in other words, if someone claims to have faith in Christ, and yet they still live as they did before, or if they have no good works in the name of Christ through following His commandments (help the poor, etc) , then they don't truly believe... their faith is dead, it is in vain. A truly saved person will surrender all to Christ, and although that person will still sin, they will live a life of repentance and work towards a holy and sanctified life to bring glory, honor, and praise to the Lord Jesus Christ... once again, not to earn salvation, but because of salvation. All of that to say this... if that is the type of church you attend, then I suggest that you find a new church.

Universalism is a false doctrine... Romans 8:28-30 says

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Salvation is set apart for those whom God foreknew from eternity past, therefore because there is a group that God foreknew, then it stands to reason that there is another group of people whom God didn't foreknow, and therefore that group is not set apart for salvation. These two groups can also be seen in Matthew 25, in the parable of the Sheep and the Goats. God's foreknowledge doesn't mean that God simply knew that people would exist... of course He did, because He is the creator. God's foreknowledge is an active verb (not passive) and it means that God sovereignly chose individuals to enter into intimate relationship with, based on no merits or conditions in those people. That is grace. There are numerous other passages that clearly teach against Universalism. Read John 6 and John 10. Read Revelation, especially chapter 7 verse 9 when the great multitude is mentioned. Then compare that great multitude with those who are condemned to the lake of fire in Rev 19. Again, these are the two groups... the Sheep and the Goats from Matthew 25.

There are far more verses that tell you that the only way to salvation is through Christ, and many of these are from Christ himself.

It is true that all shall be judged on that day, but none of us is worthy; God accepts only perfection. We need to come to the Father through Christ who can make us whole and perfect in the Father's eyes.

So explain to me how someone who actively turns from, denies and spits on Him can come to the Father through Him? It takes a certain humility to accept that saving grace.

Easy, because the Bible is not 100% written by God, it was changed by man and their struggle to control others.

Don't believe me then follow this train of thought. God is pure love right? God knows everything right? So why would God who knows everything make someone he knows will go to hell and not choose Him? However you answer it you are left saying either God does not know everything, or that God is not purely full of love.

All you are left with is having to either embrace the logical fact that God is full of love and accepts everyone to heaven and in fact hell wouldn't even exist, or you can continue on in your man made ignorance you called "god's word."

Maybe it's the hate itself that keeps you out of heaven. Maybe all of the hatred you feel towards others, comes back to you.

Luke 6:37-38King James Version (KJV)

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Seems reasonable to me.

No one has ever been able to prove that the Bible was tampered with.

The Bible you have is the same which was first written.

There is more historical evidence for the accuracy and integrity of the Bible than any other ancient text.

...the manuscripts used to compile the KJV are still in the British museum. that means that these original texts are available to check on the good editors of the KJV and other version's editors. Furthermore in the case of the old testament because of the nature of Hebrew every line has a checksum. it cannot be edited or typo'ed without it showing up as a checksum error and of course things like ancient fragmentary copies of Isaiah show practically no divergence from our modern copies of it.

Manuscript evidence for the New Testament is remarkable, far surpassing that which exists for any other ancient book. And those who work with these ancient copies (called "textual critics") are convinced that they have been able to recover a Greek New Testament which is virtually identical to the original.

This evidence does not prove that the Bible is the word of God. But it does demonstrate conclusively that the Bible you have is the same which was first written by its authors. When Teabing (the Da Vinci Code's "historian") asserts, "History has never had a definitive version of the book" and claims that scholars cannot confirm the authenticity of the Bible, he's simply wrong. Is the Bible true?

It is occasionally stated that the Bible has been copied and/or translated so many times that it has become unreliable. The actual evidence refutes this idea. Does that mean the New Testament text we have today is perfect? No, but it is very close. Ezra Abbot places the purity of the New Testament text at 99.75% pure, and A. T. Robertson’s estimate is 99.9%.

Scholars testify there is not one essential doctrine of the Church that is in question because of an inaccuracy in the text. Not one! The facts of the case prove that the text of the Bible is the most reliably established of all the ancient writings. Not only is the New Testament text we have today very close to the original, the evidence shows that the Old Testament text is too.

Hasn’t the text been copied so many times it is unreliable?
