Looking for help with an MSN Group

As I understand it, MSN Groups was shut down in 2009. What's puzzling to me is why are a few current websites providing instructions on how to start new MSN Groups. I went to the home page for MSN Groups to see if the group in question has a link to a new website but I see no information of any help. What I am trying to find is a friend from the group called DYANA, Depression, You Are Not Alone. The only bit of information I have to go by is the groups owner's user name, the friend's user name, my user name, and a bit of info on this friend such as what state she is from and that she was in the army for a while.
Is this a lost cause or is there anything I can do to find her? Yes, I've searched the internet for her and any groups with the same name and have come up empty.
