Alright, you can come to the party too.

Can you pick up some fresh Cilantro on your way? Gonna need to make a bigger batch of salsa!

I'll bring homemade chocolate chip cookies for after, if I can come, too! They put Tollhouse to shame, truly.

The video has nothing to do with the EPA as the guy says several times he is from the County and that it was do to a complaint about smoke blowing into a neighbors yard. The article is about a grant to study ways to make grills less polluting. That Fox news runs as something that the EPA is coming after your grills. One story has nothing to do with other and the other is full of hyper-bowl with nothing to back it up.

Does it really have to be spelled out?

EPA funds the study

County shows up to a BBQ

From the source you are denying:

The local ordinance, similar to countless others across the country, falls in line with a longstanding effort from the Environmental Protection Agency that aims to limit everything from BBQs to wood stoves under the guise of reducing pollution.

govtslaves.info...
www.washingtonexaminer.com...

See the pattern of yet another money grab law surfacing? THAT'S what is at issue here.

ETA: I had to re-visit your post because something stuck out for me. You are right that it wasn't an EPA officer but rather a County Slave. This was my mistake in typing. My apologies.

I knew what I was saying but alas, my fingers did not.

Peace

Jude

You know, I have thought about this before, and about the possible real reason they'd have for such actions. They already want to limit gardens, prevent people from collecting rainwater, place meters on wells, and so forth. Now, they want to limit cooking in ways that don't require power. So, what, when the lights go out, people starve? Seems to be right in line with the rest of the nonsense.

I hope those guys take it to court, with copies of the law showing grills are exempt, and put t hat dork out of a job. Then, sue the crap out of the neighbor. Sounds like she complains a LOT, and they didn't seem like jerks in the video. Nice neat yard, not rude, so what's her deal?

Ok so ignore the county code too.

ETA: And welcome to 2015 where county, town, city officials use social media to communicate with their constituents.

(b) Prohibitions. All recreational fires are limited to using clean burning charcoal, coal, manufactured fire logs or untreated dry wood as fuels. The burning of treated wood, yard waste, paper, garbage or other waste material is prohibited.

(c) Exclusions. This section does not prohibit the use of grills, camp stoves or similar devices designed for cooking, fueled by LP gas, butane, naphthalene or other liquid fuel and which are not used to burn yard waste or other material.

Pinellas County Code

That's rather the point. The county guy DID ignore the actual law, to harass the guy grilling, because, gee,, he's an environmental specialist with a clipboard! Even with the law not on his side, he harassed those people. So, what happens when he gets it on his side, and people can't grill on a normal grill any longer? Who can afford several hundred bucks for a grill that doesn't smoke??? What would be the point? A blasted forest fire puts out a LOT more harmful smoke than all the grills in my neighborhood could, going all at once. They need to mind their own business, and stop supporting some jerk of a neighbor that can't leave people alone. The cops and fire department already blew her off, but environment guy didn't? Over a backyard grill,a cross the street from the person complaining? No smoke in the video, either, or at her house (which was shown). So, you really don't see an issue here???

He wasn't an environmental specialist. He was a county official. The guys bitchy neighbor called and reported him to the county. The county official wrongly stated he violated a code. What happened to the man had nothing to do with the EPA.

Still, with the county... not the EPA. Not to mention the fact that he wrongly told the man he violated the county code. In other words Pinellas County Fla., is not banning barbeques.

That man ignored the regs, and you can bet others do as well. This is Florida, and I know Florida. Common practice down there. Place we lived, they would ticket people, people owulld pay the ticket, then they'd claim it wasn't paid, revoke licenses, and then charge to reinstate them, even when shown proof that the ticket was paid well within the required time. There is a lot of corruption. The DHS stories down there are so bad, you'd think they were invented. They had literally, records with private info in boxes on the street, some places! Others, they lost kids in foster care. It isn't called Flori-duh for no reason. Spent years down there, and this clown in the video seems to fit in well.

That Pinellas County doesn't officially ban barbeques didn't stop him from ruining those guys' day, did it? If they did their jobs, they'd have told the idiot neighbor to shut up.

Stupidity and ignorance on this level is what gets people killed.

So, are people accepting this. Its unconstitutional therefore its not legal and that man enforcing it, should have been informed that he was breaking the real law of the land, enforcing null and void unconstitutional crapola. It is a crime to attempt to enforce something that is unconstitutional and illegal to enforce. And ignorance of the "REAL" law is not an excuse. That is from a constitutional lawyers paper by the way.

I have a big mouth when people come to the door. And if that happened in my town, there would be a huge stink.

I'd light it up and blast anyone with the hero or zero and stand up for the real law. I would blast police, judges, anyone. I already have blasted many. Why are people taking this?

Get really mad and really loud.

Definitely sounds like a story of "neighbor wars."

When neighbors feud they will call the police, code enforcement, fire inspectors, animal control and anyone else they can think of in an attempt to get each other in trouble.

They are some of the most frustrating calls for a police officer.

Just a note, but this thread makes me want to go buy a grill to accompany my smoker.

The more I see videos like this and of police brutality, I question if the U.S. is slowly taking away personal freedoms and the rights of it's citizens.

Maybe he should get a lawyer and order the city to keep the car fumes from the streets off his property.
Might be fun...

I'm actually kinda mad that they are going after this guy. I kinda wish people would BBQ in my neighborhood because that's one summer smell I don't mind one bit.

But this guy is getting attacked over a BBQ and when I call the cops on the douche bag burning trash in my neighborhood really rich and smoking the entire area out - and the cop says to me "huh... Isn't that something..." And then does nothing.

Wow
