Shooting with multiple fatalities at theater in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Just got a breaking news alert for a shooting at a theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. Multiple injuries reported.

Local media doesn't have hardly any information beyond police are at the theater right now and responded to calls about a shooting.

I surely hope no one was killed and that everyone walked away fine. It makes me wonder though it this will turn out to be yet another racial event.

Six people wounded, shooter committed suicide.

Shooter was inside a theater during a showing, stood up and began shooting.

ETA - all above confirmed by a City Marshal

Governor Jindal is directing state police to take over and handle investigation now.

Shooter is described as a middle aged or older (seen both descriptions) white male. Witness states the shooter never said a word at any point before she (witness) fled the theater.

City Marshal Brian Pope has confirmed for The Daily Advertiser that six people were injured in a shooting Thursday night at the Grand Theatre.
The shooter then turned the gun on himself, Pope said, and is dead.
Katie Domingue of Carencro was at the 7 p.m. showing of "Train Wreck" with her fiance', Joshua Doggett. About 20 minutes into the movie, Domingue said, she heard a loud noise.
"We heard a loud pop we thought was a firecracker," she said.
She saw "an older white man" standing up and shooting down, not in her direction.
"He wasn't saying anything. I didn't hear anybody screaming either," Domingue said.
She heard about six shots, then she and Doggett ran to the nearest exit, leaving behind her shoes and purse.

From this, it sounds like he wasn't spraying all around him, he was shooting at someone[s] in front of him. maybe an "older white guy" pissed at people talking during the movie? I've seen people almost come to blows over stuff like that. You get a couple of people who just won't shut up and are annoying everyone near them. Maybe he just snapped. All pure conjecture, of course.

Well, if there is a Shooter and It is shooting sh!t up, I really hope someone with a Concealed Carry lifts and pulls..?

Consider it a 2fir...1 dead chump and 1 more reason to start handing out CC license...

Sources saying anywhere from 6 injured to 8 injured. Also saying there may be multiple fatalities.

Ah, he's white. So, therefore, according to the National Media, he'll be found to be mentally challenged.

My initial source is saying LE hasn't confirmed any deaths so far, but multiple media outlets are running it.

Also saying FBI and ATF are now on scene.

ETA - ambulance service confirms 10 victims. 2 dead, 8 wounded.

Hmmm... would definitely cross reference this shooter with who was shot. From the data so far, sounds like a good chance it was a personal love / hate?
