If you click on the picture, you'll get a bunch of links pop up. Use the one that starts [ img]. Copy that, and paste it into the post.

The F-18s are refueling so I'm in a holding pattern.

Are they what you called Rhinos in the ADS-B thread ? I was going to ask but didn't want to seem stupid. I think it's about time I purchased a laptop instead of having to share one instead of messing around with my phone. Oh and I'm glad I'm not the only who uses aviation terminology in normal day life.

My job is to unload, what you guys call 18 wheelers? When they are queued up and my boss asks me what they are doing I sometimes say .. oh they are in a holding pattern. I get a look as if to say what the hell am I talking about to which then I have to say in normal language .. they are waiting for me I'll be unloading them when I'm ready

The F-18A-D are called Bugs, the E/F are called Rhinos. It's an easier way to identify between the two, without saying Hornet and Super Hornet.

They are just hornets to me lol .. Even when I heard about the Growler i looked it up and just said to myself .. meh that's a hornet. So much to learn, thanks for the input

Technically they are, but the Rhino and Growler are quite a bit larger. They share commonality with the Legacy aircraft, but the airframe and avionics are changed.

Heads up to the UK folks. There appear to be B-52s heading back to Fairford. A FEDEX MD-11, Omni 767, and a C-5 were all seen heading there out of Minot.

Two B-52s landed at Fairford, one diverted to Mildenhall apparently due to weather.

Any ideas how long they will be here ? I get paid Friday and have holiday left at work to use

From what I heard I thought the C5, MD-11 and the 767 were already here ?

Also usually there are B52s stationed at fairford around June time as RIAT goers (like me) gets bit unhappy when they depart a few weeks before the air show

Since they sent an advance crew in to get ready, best guess is 2-3 weeks. I haven't heard anything official on that, but they don't normally send that much advance gear ahead if it's just a short stay. You'll be looking at a week minimum, but I'd say 2-3 is more likely.

Rumor is that B-1s and possibly B-2s will be joining them, but I haven't seen any confirmation on that.

A U2 has been spotted near Fairford too, if the twitter account I follow is correct that's where it was heading
In fact there seems to be a bit of U2 presence around Europe at the minute another one spotted over France

It's swap time. One is heading home from the ME, while another is heading to the ME. They do rotations with each aircraft.

According to the official Minot Facebook page, there are four B-52s at Fairford now. They're doing integration training and exercises with various European partners.
