IMO, he knew he would be going away for a long time for driving with a suspended license while under the influence. You can only play Russian Roulette so many times before you lose.

Apparently not, if he's been arrested 75 times. I have to wonder how he's on the street to begin with.

Father of 13?

Not to be cruel here, but maybe this was mother natures way of stopping him from having more kids.

There we go. Mister type A personality!

And now the cops have to assassinate the ladies too, any and all of 'em. Kids too.

Mother Nature's way, hmm?
I'll remember this one.

Actually if you wanna be super technical, your own quote says "trying to speed off." Not "while he was driving away" as you purport it to be.

If you're going to try and use quotes to bolster an argument, you should probably stick to the actual quote and not omit words.

Not only is 13 kids a bewildering number -

As for Dubose, he has been arrested 75 times in the last 20 years, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

I don't think Otis on Andy Griffith could beat that record.
How was this guy not in jail where at least he wouldn't get shot?
I can't get past 13 and 75 to wonder anything else about the story.
smh

This is the kind of person some really want to defend in this thread?

WTF?

A criminal acting like a criminal gets treated like a criminal and dies because of his own criminal choices.

Good riddance.

In the civilized world we don't summary execute people for ridiculous things like this.

Treating him like a criminal would be "arresting" him for TRIAL.

Shooting them in the head is treating them like a dangerous murderer.

A civilized person in a civilized world does not get arrested 75 times and father 13 kids.

He made the decision that he wasn't worth the air he was breathing when he scuffled with a cop and attempted to escape, instead of being civilized and appealing his charges if he thought he was innocent.

Bollocks You don't execute people without trial of a #ing traffic crime!

Even in china they don't do that!

On topic I can only say it was another tragedy that day in a world of tragedies, I don't live in the US so any comments of mine are based on reading online or MSN news.

Slightly off-topic may I ask is it the law that you guys have to carry license and insurance when you're driving?
We don't have to here in the UK, not even ID. We get 7 days to produce the license at a police station nominated by the driver...can be anywhere in the UK.
Just curious while I imagine if people who know they aren't carrying documents may be a bit more startled/irrational about it all?

Places I'm familiar with the process you still have to go to court but if you produce the required documentation, often times the citation will be dismissed.

License, insurance papers, registration, broken tail/head lights, etc. seen all of them get dismissed.

Thats also usually contingent on your driving record and what else transpired during the traffic stop, and is by no means a guarantee it'll get dismissed. But in my area, it's a pretty strong likelihood.

Well first of there is mention of an open bottle of alcohol.

The report states there was a scuffle in the car when he refused to produce ID and insurance.

It has also been stated the cop was knocked down when the repeat criminal attempted to flee the scene.

This guy caused this entire situation.

No by you classifying this as nothing but a traffic crime.

This was way more than that but feel free to believe what you want.

Thanks, wow, so it is a chargeable offence with an appearance at court if a driver fails to provide such documents to a police officer who has stopped them and asked for them at the scene?
That surprises me.

It only becomes a chargeable offence in the UK if the driver 'fails to provide' within seven days.

*Edit*
That is of course if the driver tells the constable the same details as his/her police radio has told them about the car's number/license plate, and the driver looks the right age.
If there was a difference then the constable has reasonable suspicion to detain for purposes of identification, but it still is not an offence until the police can prove the driver has lied.
Seems totalitarian to me having to carry ID, license, and insurance when driving...different nations I guess.

Yeah amazing that when people say they don't feel that a man deserves to be shot in the head for a minor transgression of driving away, which happens thousands of times a day across the globe, it is a clear sign that people "HATE" the police.

I challenge you to quote one post in this thread that is hate filled!

Your very statement I challenge because you do not have the details. If the perp had a hold of the cops arm pulling him into the car and driving away. That is assault with a deadly weapon according to the law. If his only option was to fire his weapon because the prep would not let go of him, that is just cause. Here again, WE, do not have all the details.

Sure sounds hateful to me. But, so be it... I still say we need to wait for all the facts to come in to make any judgement of either party here. So far, they both could be at fault...until we know more details.

Yes you know that he broke the law, no one is arguing that.
How do you know the cop needed to shoot him?

Or does it not matter...
