The Freakish Year in Broken Climate Records
1. Temperatures set a new record, 2014 hottest on record
2. Sea levels also surge to a record
3. Glaciers retreat for the 31st consecutive year
4. There are more hot days and fewer cool nights
5. Record greenhouse gases fill the atmosphere
6. The oceans absorb crazy amounts of heat

I find #6 the most troubling and have read it will never reverse itself. But what do I know. And it's Business as usual.

The global warming profiteers needs to get those records out and about before the weather starts cooling again, people have such short term memories.

It's the oil and coal profiteers I worry about. They are far more evil and sinister than most people believe.

Don't forget the wind farms they are already to be build in many areas of the US, what people doesn't know is that even the win farms needs electricity to function but hey is ok, somebody is going to make a lot of money when they start popping out in our back yards.

Wind farms produce electricity, more than they use and are way better for the environment then oil and coal. I'm all for Windfarms especially when compared to the horrible ecological disaster that fracking is. Sounds good to me.

No they are not practical in every area of the US, also they need vast areas of free land, they are noisy and has been know since their introduction into our environment to be fatal to birds.

Regardless they will be build everywhere that the states will allow and once they are in place even if they are none functional anymore we will be left with their ugly sites for ever, like giant mosters.

Sea levels also surge to a record

Hardly a "surge".

That chart has two inches of slow rise since 1994 (since satellites been tracking it).

But again, much better than doing nothing and fracking ourselves to death and continuing to be reliant to the middle east for so much oil. Remember that we want to get out of the middle east and oil and oil wars will keep us there.

keep in mind that windfarms are just one small thing. There is solar and public transportation and vehichles with better mpg and electric cars and motorcycles and buses and so much...

why focus on one small thing?

There's evil everywhere, just go to any conference or political event or educational event. Just about everyone is willing to walk on the dead bodies of their competition and they're willing to make them dead as well. There is very little honour in this world. Almost zero ethics so the corruption spreads.

Climate change is foul joke, a modern branding and new meme to lead the unaware into thicker chains and less mobility. Never waste a good crisis, in the 70's it was global cooling, in the 2000's it was global warming, in the 2010's the AGW being confused called climate change and most recently in 2015, we are back to global cooling and a Maunder minimum by 2030. Tax scams, Ponzi scams, get the rich richer quicker on the backs of the gullible masses.

Have fun with your "updated" doom port.

Cheers - Dave

You forget the power of corporate greed and how they control nations, we will be first taxed to death for global warming before they will give up their easy way of profiteering, Global warming is their next scam against humanity.

Gee, none of that applies to here.

Lake superior is back up to normal levels finally but that is because they fixed something they messed up which let too much water out.

The furnace ran a couple of nights this week. The thermostat was set at around sixty and we had closed the windows up knowing it was going to be cold.

There aren't a real lot of cows farting up here, there aren't many people raising cattle anymore. Most people don't drink Blatz beer anymore so there is a lot less drunks farting.

Oh well, maybe a glacier is going to come here and stay, someone built a snowman around two weeks ago on the highway close to Marquette, they buried snow with sawdust in the winter.

We're already being controlled by the oil companies and that corporate greed. They difference, if you're right, is that a climate change cabal or conspiracy won't destroy the world, like big oil is doing now. That's really a huge difference.

Do you like your corporate oil overlords?

I would be a lot more credulous if they actually had proposed solutions beyond, "Raise taxes on people."

And none of the green energy stuff comes without "Raise taxes on people."

You do realize that we give billions of tax dollars to oil companies now, right? How is that not a tax.

Did you know that US will back oil until it ceases to exits? that is why US dollar stop been backed by gold in the seventies and changed to be backed by oil.

Yes we better love our oil overlords because guess what it is the US markets the ones that regulates the prices of oil no Saudi Arabia no any other oil producing country, the US does this with oil speculators. Saudi Arabia is not even the biggest seller of oil to the US, Canada is with Mexico next

Don't even think that things will change any time soon.

Sad but true, we are nothing but pawns to the scheme.

January 2015,

"As a result, GISS’s director Gavin Schmidt has now admitted Nasa thinks the likelihood that 2014 was the warmest year since 1880 is just 38 per cent" Now, we all know who Gavin Schmidt is don't we?

Actually the warmest period "recorded" was during medieval times, but earth was warmed than that during the Pilocenic epoch.

Ice Core Data Confirms Medieval Period Warmer Than Present

Submitted by admin on Tue, 06/15/2010 - 12:21.

New ice core data indicates that natural climate variations caused huge temperature variations in the past. A recent study finds:
1.The Medieval Warming period had temperatures that approached 1°C higher than current temperatures, in spite of lower CO2 levels.
2.The Minoan Warming period had temperatures that possibly exceeded current temperatures by 1°C, in spite of lower CO2 levels.
3.The previous interglacial period, approximately 130,000 years ago, had temperatures in excess of 4°C versus current temperatures, in spite of lower CO2 levels.
