Since when do Roman Catholics believe in The Rapture?

I'd rather God waited until Monday morning.

OK, that gives me only a few hours to max out the credit cards, clean out the bank account and make sure I blow it all before I die.

I can't imagine living in fear of this constant parade of end of days predictions.

The rapture is an invention of the 18th or 19th century

It's not my area of specialty, but if you believe in the bible, you have no reason to believe ANY prediction of a specific event happening at a specific time:

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Matthew 24:36

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Mark 13:32 KJV

... and one of those is straight from the mouth of JC sooo ...

I wasn't going to point that fact out. It would be seen as Christian bashing. I actually proved the hoaxy nature of the whole thing with bible verses. Beezzer has inspired me to improve my profile with the ATS Christians!

(But, of course, you're right. Not to mention that the Latin root rapiere has more to do with women being seized and carried off in wartime to be raped than some sort of divine rescue, but whatever.)

I beg your pardon. For some reason, I understood that you were Roman Catholic and would know the answer.

From all I understand, the Church's general idea is that the Church will celebrate when Christ returns, but that the sudden flight into the stratosphere described by some is not doctrinal.

I am not a specialist on the matter, as noted. I thought I was asking one.

I certainly can get lost in passionate defense of the facts myself, but, even disagreements can produce fruit, as at least both sides will have heard the contrary position.

Many of us are not banking on a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Many suspect the Roman Catholic church and their Pope may be the False Prophet mentioned in Revelation. Only time will tell, and the actions of this particular Jesuit. (An interesting scenario is the Pope sets up shop in the rebuilt Jewish temple in Jerusalem). Again, one of many possibilities but something to watch, especially with this politically active Pope.

IMO...some here are so sick physically and mentally, they actually hope for global catastrophe, Armageddon the apocalypse so everyone will feel as miserable as they do.

Be careful what you wish for...you might just get it! It might be a very personal catastrophe or apocalypse. You just never know.....

Perhaps from your apologetic regarding the Roman Catholic Church's rather unique stance on divorce.

As I said, my mistake. I do apologize.

There are many different prevailing views on how Revelation can be interpreted: Preterist, Futurist, Millenialist, Amiliienialist, Historicist. And all kinds of shades in between.

Eschatology is a fascinating subject.

Do you suspect the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope is the "False Prophet"?

You do realize they are the largest group of your fellow Christians in the world, yes?

Also, how does your comments or the video answer the question about Roman Catholics not accepting the "The Rapture" as doctrinal fact?

Honestly, I didn't get past the part in your video where Sid claimed that god has spoken to him in dreams telling him that the end is coming soon. No offense, but that seems like hogwash from either a realist or theological point of view.

That's my own interpretation of what Christ says in plain text. It's not hard to understand the wording there in his teaching on divorce.
