I've had Christians say that to me, I just asked them in return, "well if God was planning on magicing the logistical problems away, why go though this whole nonsense of building an ark anyways?"

Typical, that they would waste 20 million on this joke, rather than using it for Christian things, like, oh, I dunno, feeding and sheltering the homeless.

The ark did not need to fit all the animals on earth in it because the flood was not a world flood but a regional flood. The purpose of the flood; to preserve the savior's bloodline according to prophesy, did not require a world flood. The Noah flood was regional. The confusion arises because the Hebrew word translated as world has many meanings including dirt, kingdom, world, and so on. Both Christians and skeptics get this wrong.

On top of the linguistics and misunderstanding the purpose of the flood, the rational person has to realize that it is physically and logistically impossible to embark two or as many as seven pairs of every terrestrial and avian life form on earth; because they would not fit in the ark, could not get there, could not be provisioned, and could not be loaded in time for the port departure. The embark time is a ludicrous several animals per second for a million or so years.

But it would be very possible if the flood was regional and only agriculturally important animals and those unique to the flooded region were on the manifest.

Exactly. Just disappear all of the baddies and let the good people stay dry in their own homes, even if it was just one family. Floods are nasty business, make you late for dinner they do.

You know with the way man-made climate change is predicting things will go, you'd think Christians would latch onto THAT science to confirm their longstanding idea of God returning to earth. I mean, here CLEARLY have human sin contributing to destroy the environment which is set to blow up in our faces and may take out much of society if the worst of the predictions come true. Sea levels will rise (world wide flooding anyone?) I mean it's TEXTBOOK biblical vengeance and yet the fundamentalist Christians that love Christian doom porn all tend to disbelieve that man made climate change is a thing.

We went this direction many times already...

So basically what you are saying is that translation might be wrong, witch is quite possible, but leads to other questions - what else is mistranslated and misquoted or made up/exaggerated??

Also, if correct, would that mean that all bible translations are WRONG?! Everything is possible, but word of a God, or more precisely as we know there might be more then one author based on evidence in stories - Gods can be wrong!!!

Just look at fundamentalist who take it literally, like Ken Ham.

For people like him no matter all evidence pointing to contrary... there was world flood... and Noah saved even Kangaroos from Australia, where he comes from...
