Yes, it works...

The problem is, these people are out to make money. No doubt they manifested a way to make money, and this is it. How do you keep making money with a program like the law of attraction?

Leave out important details.

Look, no system is going to work 100% for everyone all the time, but these guys leave out just enough details to keep people coming back over and over. Seminars, books, DVDs...

It's like me giving you a recipe and omitting the salt. Sure, you'll end up with a dish, but it won't be "quite right" -- you'll soon be hounding me for more information on how to make it taste like mine.

Protip: All of this law of attraction stuff is based in Hermetic teachings. If you want to go back to the source material, go dig around with Hermetic stuff.

I read the book years ago, and I think it backfired on me

I want to be clear here....though much of it and its proposed "revelation" is pretty simplistic... I try and find something of value in all I read or watch.

In essence...it reminded be Rev. Dr. Norman Vincent Peele's "The Power of Positive Thinking"....and even Rev. Jim Baker (Tammy Faye Baker's hubby who went to prison) "Three Mountain Movers".

All 3? Think positive, focus on what you want and BINGO! It appears in your life.

I think everyone knows...focus on a goal, work hard, keep our eyes on the prize...and we can make things happen. Not for SURE....but....I think they all focused on making money. And they did.

Thanks! MS

It's more than thinking positive and working hard, you have to believe in your ability to manifest things -- really believe to the very core of your being. You have to unconsciously believe you can make your thoughts into things.

This is why you should always start with small, seemingly trivial things like a parking space at work. Each time you get the spot you try to manifest, reaffirm to yourself that you are indeed making this happen and it's proof.

Also, stop "wanting" what you are trying to manifest....you'll only manifest more wanting!

Also, i tell my brain i already have what im asking for and I act gratefully for already having it.
Even though i dont have it yet, when i want something, i pretend that i already am in possession of it, thank the universe for it and the other things i already do have. And more often then not, it happens.
Like i said it doesnt happen over night.
I goto the casino here often, a few days before i go, i start thinking about myself wining.
I thank the universe for my prize and how grateful i am for it.
I have been doing this for 2 nights this week already. Im planning on hitting the casino on sunday for my birthday. 33 years old, double 3's, thats lucky numbers! Im thinking i will either hit a jackpot or win $1000...
Or is that wishful thinking lol

Exactly man. Let people say what they want. Some people are just unwilling to accept something that will better their lives.

Apologies, I made the assumption that your post was sarcastic (an impression I partly drew from the 'clown' moniker).

I later noticed that your avatar picture was a hood ornament and realized that you were not being sarcastic.

Again, my apologies!

Keep thinking those happy thoughts.

Thank you for saying that. Please consider the possibility that this type of occurrence is real. We've long forgotten how to use some of our capabilities. This one sure seems to be real. JMO

If we are concentrating on 'good things', then we will see them more frequently as a pattern. If we concentrate on 'bad things' then we will see them as a pattern more frequently. The actual occurrence of good and bad things does not change to fit our perception.

Totally agree, but personally, I like it when my perception concentrates on the GOOD things over the BAD.
So, for this reason, the Law of Attraction does work, because it basically plays off this human inclination to see patterns. So, see the patterns of GOOD vs. the pattern of BAD things happening, and you'll be happier for it.

Oh, and the money from nowhere thing did seem to happen right after we saw the video (vs. the book). Weird but true.

I watched it about 5-years-ago and considering I am cynical by nature, was shocked that it actually does work. I immediately became mindful to produce only positive thoughts. It took a few months, but eventually my brain retired itself to quickly throw out negativity.
Long story short: I put a picture of the car I wanted on the screen of my phone for visualization. At the time, it was out of my price range and I even had a decent newer car that I was happy with. Well I unexpectedly recieved an inheritance 6 months later. I was initally tempted to buy my dream car with some of that money but thought it'd be a horrible financial move. The same week the inheritance was deposited in my bank account someone hit my parked car at work and totaled it. Now I HAD to get a car and I'd be getting a insurance check from the guy who hit my current car, so it justified getting that car. My dad called me that weekend, and said his buddy is selling his wifes car that was only a year old. Even though I was set on getting the one I've bedn wishing for, I told him to text me pics. I died when I received his text. It was the exact same car as the one I put on my phones screensaver. Same colors, same make and model , fully loaded and even identical (non-stock) rims.
