Today's situation is child's play compared to the Cold War. So why would these "prophecies" be fulfilled now if they weren't fulfilled then?

I think you got it reversed.

Cold War was a child play because you know who the PLAYERS were. This time - you don't know who they are and where they are. They (the terrorist) have no boundary. They hide among the masses. With a hidden nuke at hand, the Cold War is child's play by comparison.

Iran, on the other hand, not only doesn't have nuclear weapons but is forbidden from having them. And that's according to their Supreme Leader himself!

If so why does Iran then need a secret / hidden facility (deep underground) to process nuclear materials?

The Supreme Leader is only a man - with an agenda.

Of course, I think the world is complacent.

Everyone thinks that no one would be mad enough to fire off a nuke because no one has. We have MAD you see. And this whole treaty seems to be based on the idea that if Iran has nukes, it will also become a magically safer, saner nation.

It would look like the paradisiacal places that were Stalin's USSR and Pol Pot's Cambodia and Mao's China I'm guessing.

Horrible people are horrible no matter why they excuse their awfulness, but to those who would rather not understand that mankind is essentially flawed, it's much easier to blame everything else: guns, religion, poverty, society, race, etc.

And none of us is blameless. We all fall prey to the impulse from time to time because it feels good to put ourselves on that pedestal.

Like I said - I can't even completely trust myself. Hence, anyone who puts trust on man will surely be disappointed.

I believe we've reached the pinnacle of human tragedy. The presence of NUKES at the hands of flawed man, if left on their own and to themselves will eventually lead is disaster.

The problems facing humankind is NOW beyond human control. Thai's just the fact and it'll take superhuman intervention to put a stop to it.

We just can't do it on our own. Anyone who says otherwise is living in a dreamland.

You don't even need Iran to have the nuke - there's North Korea already. Now add to it the alliance of terrorist groups from all over.

Just one explosion will put the world into a tailspin.

So this deal or any nuke deal is a fools errand.

There is hardly "peace and security" now, and definitely not peace and security as a result of the Iran deal.

Imagine a world ruled by the powerful elite/s with no one to answer to - a godless world.

We already have that - and it sucks.

What say we remedy it by improving regulation, dealing with income inequality, and doing away with lobbying?

That would fix a whole HELLA lot a things.

(Vote for Bernie. Bernie Sanders.)

Still convinced that man has the solution?

Wake up!

It's a futile endeavor, just like this Iran Nuke deal. If you're able to remove selfishness and greed from the heart of man then you might just have a chance.

Then you will also have to deal with:

1. Big Business
2. Politics
3. Military complex (largest spending are geared towards powerful weapons - including NUKES)
4. Different religions of the world - for instance equality between men and women in Muslim countries.
5. Population Explosion.
6. Pollution. Climate Change
7. Crime.
8. Breakdown of the family unit.
9. Lawlessness
10. Rouge nations
11. Terrorism.

just to name a few...

The point is - the World is broken and can't be fixed. Hence as a religious person, the solution is beyond human capability but supernatural.

In fact the hidden source of our problem - IS supernatural.

Think about it. Everyone on earth wants to live in Peace and Security. But until now, mankind had no such luck. Even in this so called enlightened age of ours, true Peace and Security is still illusive.

Why?

Consider. Mankind from early on tried:

Absolute monarchy
Anarchy
Authoritarian
Commonwealth
Communist
Confederacy
Constitutional
Constitutional democracy
Constitutional monarchy
Democracy
Democratic republic
Dictatorship
Ecclesiastical
Emirate
Federal
Federal republic
Islamic republic
Maoism
Marxism
Marxism-Leninism
Monarchy
Oligarchy
Parliamentary democracy
Parliamentary government
Parliamentary monarchy
Presidential
Republic
Socialism
Sultanate
Theocracy (under man)
Totalitarian

And still - no true peace and security for all.

Why?

Why create a weapon that will ultimately destroy life when everyone wants to live in peace?

Something is behind the madness - an evil supernatural force who doesn't want us to live in true peace and security.

Capital ideas!

Let's take the system you hate because it has all the power, and fix it by giving it even more power.

This is the problem I have with people who are in love with the all-powerful state.

So I guess my point with this is that you can talk/type until you're blue in the face and live an otherwise pristine and righteous life, but ultimately the only person you can directly control and be fully responsible for is yourself.

Yep!!

You are exactly right.

I am concerned for Israel and its peace and security. Things are moving into place now.

Of course you are!

They are more important than everyone else after all!

Anyways, my deep down feeling is, the stories in the Bible are meant to make sure as many people are blindsided by things as possible.

What this means is, Israel will be completely and totally destroyed, and the blame will be put on various groups, and the Christians who read the Left Behind series will be so UTTERLY shattered, that they will lose all sense of reality as they believe this cannot happen.

These beliefs are so ingrained into the psyche of even more than the Christians, that Israel is supernaturally protected, when it is a smoldering ruin they will lose all bearing, as will the Muslims and every other religion that thinks they know what will happen.

This will cause such INCREDIBLE confusion, despair, hopelessness, the people will be BEGGING for GODS MERCY, the Chosen Ones, the IMPERSONATORS of GODS, will finally have the SOULS of the humans AND the DEMONS AND ANGELS at a precarious tipping point.

The Goal: To somehow trick and manipulate the ones who can, to somehow open the Gates, and let the Fallen Ones through, to RECREATE the Heavens. See the good job they do here !!

The Covenant (CONTRACT) will be broken, this they do not seem to think is possible either.

But some are beyond prepared, and can adjust to any stupid reality, and anything else.

I think we have a long, long way to go before there is a general sense of being in "peace and security".
Are there many signs of that complacent attitude at the moment?

I think it is more pertinent to consider Jeremiah 6:14 "Peace, Peace, they say, when there is no peace."-NIV

This indicates there will probably never be a defined "sense" of peace on a grand scale, but rather propaganda disseminated by the world leaders. Likely this propaganda relates to the "frogs" that come from the mouths of the Dragon (Satan), the Beast (World Politics), and False Prophet (The Predominant World Power) at Revelation 16:13.

Interesting. You can't even see it.

The world is broken. No way to fix it. Mankind has tried so many forms of government to fix it and each one failed, yet you don't see it. Still putting your trust on man - Bernie Sanders at that!!! wOW.

Must be quite a dreamland you're in not to see it.

Here's what's coming next:

US secretary of state John Kerry struck a positive tone on Friday about China’s commitment to pressuring North Korea to dismantle its nuclear program.

Kerry told reporters in Beijing that he has discussed “almost every subject of concern for the United States and China and the region” with Chinese leaders during his 24-hour visit to the capital, including “the commitment that the United States and China share to achieve a de-nuclearized North Korea, as well as a special role that China can play in helping to make that goal a reality.”

The discussions had been positive, Kerry said. “I’m pleased that on every level, in all of our conversations today, China could not have more forcefully reiterated its commitment to that goal, its interests in achieving that goal, and its concerns about the risks of not achieving that goal – in terms of what it might mean, in terms of stability on the peninsula, as well as the potential for an arms race in the region.”

I think you are too worried about conjecture and not what is prophesied in the scriptures.

A. What we know is there will be a tribulation.
B. We do not know what causes it.
C. Only one passage references any possible World War III scenario, and that is Daniel 11:44 which pertains to the US and Russia.

Yet before A. B. and C. happens - this needs to happen:

[1Th 5:3 HCSB] 3 When they say, "Peace and security," then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains come on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

And here we go:

Looking at what the attitude of the world right now, it's very obvious the world body is tired of war and have been beating the drum beat of "give peace a chance". I think this event marks a pivotal moment in world history when people will think NOW is the time to pursue "peace and security".

Per my research, next in the agenda - pressure Israel to accept this deal for the sake of peace in the region.

Once this is done, they will pivot (as the report say) to Syria and deal with ISIS once and for all.

The ball is now rolling.

Peace is a pipe dream of a liberals imagination.

As long as someone has something else that someone wants...there is no peace.
As long as someone says something that someone else does not like... there is no peace.
As long as someone thinks differently then someone else... there is no peace.

Even when the last person on earth dies, there will be no peace. The natural process of the universe is chaos.

The best we will ever get is a balance that allows for the best simulation of peace. MAD may have been a crazy policy, but in reality it had many plus sides.
