couple of simple remedies to try before you go and get the antibiotcs next time
break a clove of garlic in half and place on the infected gum for 5 minutes this will draw the poison out of your gum you may have to pop it once you have done this but the pain should go straight away. next would be to get some 35% hydrogen peroxide put 1 drop in 2 ounces of water and swill a little bit of it for a few minutes this should also kill the infection both of these have worked for me.
