Just Noticed Gold Border...

.... And thought to myself "Damn... That does not go nearly as well with my avatar as the silver one did!"

Yes, I have a golden border. Yes, I am aware that in the grand scheme of things, that does not matter a God damn.

However, it is interesting to me that I have no idea when exactly that happened. There was no notification, no warning, and I have no idea how those borders are allocated, by what metric they are decided upon. All I know is, that this new border means that I have put a certain amount of time into this site, and a certain amount of effort too. It's been an absolute pleasure, and a rare privilege to be here, and I hope to be for a long time to come yet.

I want to take this moment to thank you, all the other members, all the moderators, and all the staff of this wonderful site for making the experience so far utterly fantastic, engaging, interesting and enlightening. You all kick the largest possible quantity of buttocks, and it has been, and will continue to be an honour to be amongst you on a daily basis.

I think it's tied to your WATS score. I think you get silver when you get to 100 and gold at 200.

It could be an indication that you post too much and need to get out more. But since it took you about 8yrs, I think you're probably okay.

It's those folks that get silver and gold within 6 months that are in serious trouble.

I see both my border and TrueBrit's as being the same colour.

Well, for the record, I think emerald is much stronger than gold. What'd you know - Moh's hardness scale agrees with me.

If your border was linked to spelling mistakes mine would be a muddy brown colour.

I am a lumpen, barrel shaped lab accident. Seriously, thirty eight inch waist, forty four inch chest, and arms that seem like cocktail sticks when compared with the trunk they come out of. Well green is more my bag, silver is a better shade, but I got gold.

That said, don't sweat any of that stuff. All that matters is the post you made last, that's the bit that defines a member, more than anything else.
