With just a little information about a person the mind begins to create an image of what you should expect said person to look like based on what you've programed yourself to believe from your life experiences. Yet one can never truly know who a person based on first impressions.

There is a reason why a wise man once said "Judge not"

I loved it - until I saw that it was a propoganda piece (advertisment) for soda. And they say pyschology isn't a science.

A delightful idea ruined by crass commercialism - for the "Islamic" market I assume.

Your intent was good - thank you for sharing it.

This is weird because Coca-Cola has been pushing its "share a coke with (insert name/label here)" for about a year now. This only seems to be getting promoted in the Middle East too as far as I can tell, despite the video being in English and seemingly aimed at a western audience (because of the English).

What's going on here? LOL. Cool experiment though.

Opening sentence in Video:

"It takes seven seconds to build a prejudice based on someone's appearance."

The internet is a lot like a dark room, we have no idea who we are conversing with.

The world is a dark room... we see hundreds of people every day, and create an illusion of who they seem to be based on what we see as well. Today any of us could have passed one of the most amazing people on the planet, yet they might have looked like someone you would only assume to be a drug addict, or a criminal

One can't judge the world by a single sense... what's inside is usually quite different then what one sees externally

Thats why I love the internet. Everyone is anonymous. I have the satisfaction of knowing if people met me in real life they wouldn't give me the time of day.

I think if a lot people were as honest they would say the same thing.

In the real world if a person I meet passes that kind of judgement on me, I want to know it right away, because they aren't gong to be a friend in the true sense of the word.

Nice message.

I think we will find that If we just take the time to get to know a person we will find our selves pleasantly surprised over and over again that they are not what they appeared to be when we looked at first glance.

Never rely on what someone else tells us a person is or isn't. We have to find out for ourself and if we can't even take the time to do so then so sad for us, our loss.

I always try to give a person the benefit of the doubt that they deserve kindness, respect and friendship and its up to them to prove otherwise.

Unfortunately alot people these days are the opposite and treat you like garbage unless you prove to them that you deserve their respect.

Just another symptom of our selfish society I suppose.

So coca cola?

They've been using clever marketing for decades.

Gotta judge them, I guess.

Ah man I remember why I hate commercials now.

Next it'll come out they were paid actors.

I am quite serious.

How, exactly, have I misinterpreted the video? You disagree that it is an advertisement made with the intent to sell product not actually promote open mindedness.

As I stated, it was a nice piece ruined by it's covert - 'buy my stuff' message.

It has been my experience that advertisers will corupt all manner of good ideas in the pursue of sales and this is, in my opinion, a very good example of such.

SARCASM AHEAD

Don't it just make you want to run out a buy a coke - they are such good guys and want everybody to get along - coke will make you more accepting of others - drinking coke will make you a menche.
