There is silence because there are thousands of murders in the USA every year.

If the White House had to comment on every one, they would never get anything done.

This murder is being elevated by the Right Wing to represent something that also happens all over the country all the time - murders by illegal immigrants.

This one isn't really that special and doesn't really deserve a White House response.

But.

This case is the result of a Federal and Local police failure.

Obama is currently addressing similar failures in other areas.

Why does this get omitted?

Trying to justify Obama's inaction here is ridiculous.

Why does Obama keep quiet about some things and makes a big deal about others?

Because he can't, nor can his party.

To actually address what happens with open borders, and sanctuary cities ?

Would 'alienate' his/their voting base.

That murder should never happen.

A felon, multiple deportations, murdered a woman.

That's like the kiss of death in politics.

meh!

Why should Obama get involved in local law enforcement?
The murder and the apprehension of the perpetrator has nothing to do with
Obama or his office.

Hasn't stopped him before.

'The police acted stupidity'.

'If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon'

'Ferguson'.

'Occupy'.

Obama has constantly been involved in local law enforcement matters.

Except when it comes to an illegal murdering a US citizen, and a woman.

Obama has set precedent by his involvement with local law enforcement issues all throughout his presidency.

As long as it served and benefitted him.

This would not benefit him, ergo, crickets.

Man, if you want to politicize illegal immigrant crimes, you might as well go for a real good one, like those of Ángel Maturino Reséndiz - he killed at least 15 people back in the 90's. There was some minor hub-bub during the crime-spree (he was listed on the FBI top ten most wanted list, but he actually quickly turned himself in after that) but there wasn't a national conversation about immigration - and Ángel Maturino Reséndiz had been deported at least four times.

But, still, you are much more likely to be killed by a friend or family member (who is most likely the same racial/cultural identity as you) in the US. Your brother, sister, mother , father, spouse, cousin, bff, person you hang out with through mutual friends, is statistically speaking, much more likely to kill you then a stranger. Who's going to protect you from THEM?!?

Any way you look at it, there's no excuse worth a plugged nickel for this Federal/Local police failure.

The Administration needs to apologize for this insane posture.

Obama speaks out about violence in the streets: People complain.

Obama shuts his mouth and doesn't say anything: People complain.

Do people have no lives? Nothing better to do than demonize a man no matter what he does?

Maybe if people took more time to actually work on "conservative" causes, and not crying all the time, they'd actually get something done in this country.

I have nothing but time to ensure another US citizan that's a woman btw doesn't die needlessly

Because Obama, and his party skirt the law for their own political benefits.

That woman should be alive.

How many more must die before it becomes 'worthy' of ATS ?

Could say the same for both liberal and conservative.

Maybe if they^ addressed issues rather then making them into agenda media circuses for votes...

Simple. It doesn't politically benefit him to get involved...unlike, oh...let's say, Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray or Michael Brown (aka the 'Gentle Giant).

As long as you want to play party politics...

The entire San Francisco incident is 100% Democrat owned.

Total failure.

To make matters worse, the suspect in the case, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, had a record of seven drug-related felonies, had already been deported five times, and had been released by San Francisco officials in April as part of its “sanctuary-city” policy rather than turned over to federal authorities as they had requested.

jaybookman.blog.ajc.com...

Sanctuary laws not to blame in San Francisco killing

Right.

If that was anyone else other than in illegal they would be already been in jail.

I could think of better ways to do that. We could stop the wars oversees and ensure that hundreds if not thousands of our female soldiers come home safe.

What a noble man you are to complain about a politician after the fact. Your conscious must be crystal clear.

Why so they can get murdered by illegals that have been deported multiple times.

Seems to me the women are safer over there at least they can shoot back.

Sure is clear. Haven't screwed anyone over for a vote.

So it's Obama's fault when he doesn't get personally involved, and it's Obama's fault when he gets involved.

Got it.

Well if he didn't get involved over an over creating national news then people would not wonder what is going on. This is also national news but it wasn't a black person killed by cops and the gun used was illegal so hard to go in that direction to suggest that guns should be outlawed...

Good idea, and while we are at it lets remove all females from the police force, fire department etc don't want them to get hurt either....
