these 2 guys are/were the premier jazz guitar plays of the day.

who is your favorite?

i love them both but in my opinion joe pass takes it all day.

not gonna try to post a django vid cause there are not that many out there. mostly still frames with some music behind it.

anyway, check out joe pass

nobody can mess with joe pass

Django Doc in French (press CC for English)
For improv, I'd take my nine-fingered Django over Pass any day...

but Pass is a virtuoso guitarist, there's no doubt...

But Django's got that JUMP!

Reinhardt hands down. You know his story right? His fingers on his left (fingering hand) were damaged severely in a wagon fire and FUSED together...he had to find a way to play chords and notes with several of them melted and healed together in a strange configuration.

He was a gypsy and asleep I believe in his families wagon when it started on fire and some plastic type flowers they sold from town to town melted on his hands and he was horribly burned.

What we hear of his recordings...is done with disfigured and deformed hands...making the seemingly impossible...beautiful music.
