Marriage it would seem has been between one man and one woman as indicated by the Code of Law established by Hammurabi.

No nations but the current ones has ever legalized marriage between the same sex.

so 4000 plus years of historical tradition is over thrown by five liberal SCOTUS judges without regard to the historical tradition.

I think about 20 other countries legalized this before the US in modern times. How would you blame just our supreme court? Also, see my other post, same sex marriage is not new to the world.

Prove it because I have been searching both online and offline in historical books dating back to the late 1800-'s and early 1900's and I can find none.

Wikipedia is not a trusted source as it is agenda oriented they could care less about truth. And did you not notice the vagueness of the claim not one historical proof to prove the clam is footnoted or quoted. it is questionable claim to say the least.

The American Civil war history was rewritten by the victor to read that the PRIMARY purpose of the war was fought over slavery when tat was not the primary reason, Self governing Sovereignty of States was the primary reason as noted in older historical documents. But you wont find that in Wikipedia.

IDC what the nations and civilizations of the past did, the past is the past.

When your last resort is to go back to the dark ages of time to try and justify something that doesn't change your life in any way, then I see that as ignorance.

You want to cherry pick one thing about those laws and what 'history' has been destroyed.
Again, ignorance.

it is not about ignorance but about the origins of marriage and who it historically between.

Not one nation before modern times legalized same sex marriage. You wont find it any further back that a few years ago.
You missed my post then. Mespotamia had the most complicated same sex marriage rituals. Ancient Rome had same sex marriage, even a couple of emperors, until Christianity came to Rome. This is among other ancient cultures. You just weren't looking.

The oldest Codex of Law is the Hammurabi Code of law written about 600 years before the of Moses...

Being older doesn't make it better. It just means that they had a different approach to life 4,000 years ago.

Why not complain about all the other old laws (from completely different cultures in very different periods of history) that had subsequently been "swept away" by modern legislators and court cases? Or are you cherry-picking the ones that suit your point while ignoring the ones that aren't so palatable to a modern society?

those weren't the Dark Ages (1000-1300AD) it was more like the Brass age previous to the Iron Age. Get you history correct before you type.

All that aside (because, you know, the Code of Hammurabi certainly didn't outlaw sending child porn across the internet, so may not be the authority on governance in 2015), do you not agree with equal protection?

Is freedom only good for those who are approved of by the majority? How do you fit "individual rights" into that?

Again history just proves that marriage has been between one man and one woman not that their laws are superior.

no Rome did not they did however accept homosexuality but I cannot find one historical document to support your claim.

So the burden of proof is on you.

History is actually constantly re-written the only commonality is they never go beyond 6000 years ago,Ill cut to the chase this is just laying the groundwork for the return of the watchers and nephilim they are all bagging a book which is telling them exactly what is happening this is all leading up to corruption of the human gene pool and transhumanism.

Im not sure that statement is entirely true given what I know about greek history, but just for grins lets just say it was.

It wasn't an issue in those days because a gay couple couldn't have biological offspring, so whatever they had went to next of kin (no complaints there) or the current gov (again no complaints).

Most of these laws existed to keep people from killing each other, rather than push some religious belief. If something did come up, it was so rare, it never warranted a law.

Answered already.

You just feeding modern propaganda. I can't take seriously those articles

Roman social customs are relatively well known, and same-sex unions existed as high in society as among Roman emperors. Roman statesman Cicero also documented legal rights of an individual within a same-sex marriage.

It is outright lies.

I wouldn't be surprised if citation index of those lies will soon exceed original sources and the true knowledge will be banned and ridiculed.

Last I knew, SCOTUS was supposed to interpret and define the American constitution, bill of rights, and law. And not the code of Hammurabi.

Did that change?

And yet, here we still are.

Only reason the Christians will deny history is because they believe gay marriage is the last straw before Jesus returns. If they consider the fact that gay marriage has been a part of history for thousands of years, they have to consider the fact that the "last straw" was already broken thousands of years ago and Jesus has yet to return.
