Art Bell burned a lot of people when he announced he was coming to XM radio and after a couple months, left it because of streaming rights (I think). A lot of his fans bought an XM radio, me included, with a subscription just to listen to his show again.

That said, Art Bell better do some amazing, over the top, programs this time around and stick with it. Else, I think he's going to lose even more of his base fans.

Here's hoping for some wonderful programming because anymore Coast 2 Coast and Ground Zero are the pits.

I blew almost 300 bucks to listen to Art bell on Sirius and got burned.

As much as I loved Art Bell's shows on AM radio,
it will take me a little while to get excited again.
Once bitten, twice shy Art.

Best of luck, if you stay on, I might tune in.

Fantastic news. I knew he was coming back but had forgotten the exact date, so thanks for posting.

I'd completely dried up all the old Art Bell shows posted on YouTube so I am truly relieved that I will soon listen to him on a live stream. I consider Art Bell to be one of the best interviewers in media, if not THE best of all time. His incredible talent for asking pertinent, in-depth questions on virtually any subject is just phenomenal. Moreover, he is the original pioneer of high quality paranormal radio, thus ending the monopoly on political whiners that dominated the airwaves in the 90s. He has the most beautiful, velvety, sonorous voice as well - perfect for radio!

Art Bell, what a guy! Welcome back - Mega Roswells Art!

Art, glad to see (hear) you back.

Missed ya bud.

Now enjoy being appreciated by your fans that have missed you, like that ever changed.

I've listened to some of his older shows and they were really interesting...

...but am I the only one who thought he'd died? I've read threads about that stuff before...people who apparently we dead sudddenly not being, and never thought much about it. But the title of this thread jumped out at me, I'm positive I read art bell had died.

Man, that's weird. It'd make a good topic for one of his shows.

Perplexed.

Tough call....

I listened to Art Bell for years on AM radio (before the internet) as I was doing my motor route,
however, being a part of and listening to ATS radio...

That is/was priceless.

I think due to content, ATS wins although 15 years ago I would of said much different.

Wins what??!!

They coexist, and you might note, Art Bell is a founding father of this broadcast genre.

This isnt a contest. Art Bell owned late night AM long before Simon and Bill came together.

I like them both, but I have a special fondness for Arts style and presentation. Spent many a midnight mile listening to his show.

This aint no pissin' match, both own their own space.

I am pegged. Thank you.

And my apologies for coming across a bit crass. I have been awake for over 26 hours so far. And I am feeling it bad.

I know that Art Bell has retired and returned more times than i care to remember............

I started listening to Art back in 97

I was disappointed every time he left.

and was excited every time he returned

Regardless, if you have be "burned" by Art Bell or not...... (XM radio sub. esp.)

He still delivers an awesome show every time.

He dives into topics like no other, he knows when to talk and when not to. When he does speak, he asks intelligent questions. If a guest makes a statement, Art always has an intelligent (and coherent) response. Art also lets his callers "have their say" before disconnecting their calls.
(George Noory is highly deficient in the majority of these categories)

I miss the old coast to coast am with Art Bell...

I used to like to listen to coast to coast am............

No matter how many times I have been "burned" by Art .......

The Quality and Content of his shows are more than enough keep me listening

Can't wait for Art to come back........and stay......

Clyde Lewis is definitely entertaining to listen to, but I have to admit sometimes his show is just too much doom porn for me!

Maybe you are confusing the death of Art's wife, Ramona Bell. His wife died and he revealed the entire incident on his live show - it was amazingly sad, because they were totally in love. But Art remarried very quickly after that and he has a new wife and a 6 year old daughter as well.

I've experienced a lot of those dead/not dead episodes myself, so I understand... but no, Art is alive and well, thank goodness!

Hope you got some sleep!

No worries, like I said, spoken like a true fan, and that is totally understandable and actually made me stop and think for a moment. I had to remind myself what Art Bell is.
I am a little bitter over the waste of money just to have him drop off XM.
And this is coming from an Art bell fan.
I listened to him almost religiously for years.
I was listening when he super glued his lips together.....loolol

It will take me a few shows probably to get over it...

Not to be confused with the John B. Wells' radio show, "Caravan to Midnight".

Funny how close the program names are -- wonder if they'll work together again?!
