We have special visas for people to work in the fields picking crops. We have always had citizens, cleaning and cooking and doing construction. Now illegals are hired instead, taking job opportunities away from them. I'm sure illegals will not always be so accepting of low wages. The ones I worked with sure put up a stink when a citizen was payed more. In any case, we have been taken advantage of for too many years and our citizens need jobs to survive. We can't just ignore those who are coming through the proper channels and throw them to the back of the line. We can't just ignore the plight of our homeless and hungry citizens and place foreigners above them. It is a slap in the face to these people.

Slave labor huh?

The constitution extends to all on american soil.

I'm against this plan in the strongest possible terms of expressing so but what is suggested here is not illegal. The abolition of slavery was not extended to prisoners of war or convicts. It actually expressly mentions that using prison slave labor is perfectly legal and constitutional. This happens to be why certain prisons in the US can force you to work or put you in solitary confinement (a form of torture) for not doing so.

England has a 30 mile wide wall between the South Coast and France (the English Channel). That isn't stopping illegals from trying to go through the tunnel, sneak onto trucks, climb underneath cars or even hide in the wheelwells of
aircraft.

Should also build a wall on canadian border to stop the cold air going south.

Would this not be a modern version of slavery at its core?

So we arrest poor Mexican people that are looking for an opportunity to enrich their lives and the lives of their family and thrust them into slave labor? That hardly seems fair.
Are you going to wall up the western and eastern seas as well as the northern border?

What's slave labor is the American people busting their butts working 40+ hours a week while nearly a third of their paycheck goes to supporting these people that can't stay in their own country. If they want to come here, they need to do it legally.

Try illegally going into Mexico. They'll arrest you and deport you.

Which is why we need to enforce existing laws, punish companies who hire illegals and stop the anchor baby thing. The illegals won't be so quick to come here then.

If you want a real solution to illegal immigration, stop the extremely harmful foreign policies we have with Mexico, Central and South America.

You want to stop illegals from coming here. Just setup a system that rewards citizens for reporting a business who employe's undocumented workers. Make the business pay $5-10k per undocumented worker, 25% of that fine goes to person who report it. Each time a business is caught, double the fine.

I talked to a legal mexican in construction a few months ago. At the mexican guatemala border the mexican guards shoot and kill those crossing he said, and he was not a fan of illegal immigration.
mexico allows for this border crossing. An easy way to get rid of the less productive and more criminal citizens.

I dont think that kind of wall is the answer. Some elevated guard post for spotting and a search and grab crew on standby seems smarter. Walls are used for symbols. Who would want to stop it though? cheap labor and keep wages depressed for big biz, new voters for the left. win win for the power brokers.

Amnesty has been done before, nothing was solved. nothing will be solved. It's also not being fixed because it helps divide and destablize the US. a large non assimilating non western european immigration into a western european culture is going to cause problems. It is in every european country.

They tried hiring homeless, hiring unemployed and using prisoners in those states that tried to enforce harsh laws. Nobody would or could the do the job the same way and those laws were removed. Until somebody comes up with a better idea then we are stuck with it. It is the way things have been for 200 years and nobody has come up with a better answer. This nation was built on the back of illegals and maintains its edge because of them. They even figure into our national security as vital workers in the event of a large scale war. That is our reality and that is why nobody in power will ever go through with trying to stop them.

A DMZ with mines and Guns is easier to build and maintain than a wall. A wall sounds cool at first...until you get diggers going under it.
