Would a wall have stopped him?

It is very tragic that it happened, seems it was human error that was the cause of it though.

Do some reform, in that reform is stricter enforcement of not going through the system.

It wasn't about a wall. This...

You don't want people coming in? Why can't they come here?

There needs to be control, just like other countries.

Like any other country in the entire world, we want people coming here who will obey our laws. I guess that is a silly concept.

The ironic point is that Mexican immigration laws are much stricter than ours. They actually put you in prison under hard labor for violating their laws.

I'd call it community service. Commit a crime, you pay for it. Why is that so hard? If anything, it will keep illegals from crossing instead of the typical slap on the wrist.

It doesn't matter what you call it, a rose by another name is still a rose.

It is slave labor and we have outlawed that long ago.

We do need to do something to control the flow, time and money spent on a wall that won't do anything ins't the answer.

They definitely have stricter immigration laws which makes a lot of irony in the argument and demonstrates that the US is not a jerk in the debate. Heck, Scandinavia's immigration laws make us look like fascists. The US being mean and cruel, RE immigration, is a boldfaced lie when compared to almost everyone else.

You may want to look up what "slave labor" is defined as in the dictionary. Being put to labor to pay for a crime one has been convicted of does not fit the definition.

Mexicans don't want to pack up and leave for some Foriegn Country.

Mexico sucks...They will rape and kill you. Who wants to live in that filth ?

We need to help them make it better. For Mexico to allow Americans to invest.

I live here. A wall isn't practical. It's also not very good optics for "The Land Of The Free".

Electronic Fences, Allow investment, Allow Americans and others to own land.

That would be a start...

Depends, what kind of rose are we talking about?

There's a lot of different kinds of roses

So is community service slave labor? By your definition, it seems that way.

I can agree there, but that is what happens when you take the moral high ground.

We need to focus on those hiring the ones that are coming over, because that is what they are over here for.
To get a job and money.

The wall is a stupid idea just go look at where we have fences now and you will see they just climb over or tunnel underneath. Besides if people want to live in a prison they can move to a country that is surrounded by walls.

The wall is going to go thru private property. What if the owner of the property doesn't want a wall.
What if he doesnt' want to sell his land to the wall builders. The legal issues would tie up a project like this
Untill 2120.

Perhaps we could convince the US taxpayers to fund the wall being built in Mexico.

Trump is a clown

dictionary.reference.com...

Seems that is exactly what it is.

persons, especially a large group, performing labor under duress or threats, as prisoners in a concentration camp; a labor force of slaves or slave like prisoners.

Or would they be performing the labor on their own accord?

A wall is a good idea, but inefficient. Not only does it have to be built, it has to be maintained and patrolled, otherwise it is a waste.

What we want is a system that encourages those who want to work and contribute and discourage the criminals and those who want to be a drain on the system.

Harsh penalties and no benefits for those who do the illegal route and a smooth pathway to citizenship for those who want to work and contribute and assimilate.

That does not apply to those convicted as a crime, otherwise those who are sitting in the state pen are "kidnap victims."
