I was browsing through Youtube and these commercials popped up. They literarily creeped me out.

I can't believe these commercials are playing. To the average viewer, they may just seem dumb and even maybe offensive. I can't put my finger on it, but something is creepy about commercials that use OBVIOUS ancient symbolism. I mean aren't there other 'fun, creative' ways to market a solar energy company other than a SUN GOD from ancient Egypt?

Ra is seen in these commercials as a slave to the human. In one commercial he is vacuuming and the other he is seen trimming bushes outside. Besides the use of Ra, his staff in the background and owls on the shelfs of the first commercial can be seen.

SolarCity --- At Home with Ra: Fish Tank Diet.

SolarCity --- At Home with Ra: Horticulture

I don't have in-depth knowledge of Egyptian symbolism and what it may mean. I'm hoping this forum may help reveal the mystery. Why is SolarCity using Ra?.....Other than it seeming weird, offensive and creepy.

What do you think of this?

That it is a funny marketing scheme.

Ra is the god of the sun, they are a solar company that uses the said sun...
They have the power of the sun at their service, hence Ra doing the chores.

Don't make a mountain out of it.

Zomg! A company that literally makes their money off the sun has a sun god in their commercials!

Martial law starts next week!

So because these commercials bug you out they should not be on television?

How very disrespectful to Ra. That's extremely offensive.

Solar City are risking his wrath... Look Out, them.

I got more of a Illuminati confirmed feel to the post, but could just be going offensive route.

Totally forgot: Armor All uses a Viking warrior.

When martial law comes, it will be enforced by Viking warriors, lead by Ra. Nike will be the messenger between Ra and the Viking warriors.

I saw the ads air and my first thought was, 'Only a matter of time before the Illuminati control the media stuff pops up on ATS'.

Same, and if I tighten my tin foil hat I can see why they would think that.

But take a step back and it just becomes a great line of commercials.
Hope whoever thought that up got a little extra in the pay check.

The only people who should be a little bothered by this would be people who worship in the Egyptian pantheon. But, even then, you'd have to be pretty devoid of a sense of humor to be irate about it.

Using a sun god to advertise solar makes sense.

I think they're funny and clever and hardly as weird as many other commercials we've seen in recent years.

I'm curious as to who it is you think shouldn't "allow" this and on what grounds they would make that decision.

I guess it makes sense that it would be offensive to someone who believes in Ra.

Absolutely understand, it is not like companies use the gods' names in vain right?

Why should they mind? RA would have no problem either. S/HES way above that petty bs.
