Robot kills a man at Volkswagen plant rt.com...

A machine on an assembly line grabbed a worker and thrust him against a metal slab, causing lethal injuries.

The tragedy occurred at a plant belonging to German automaker Volkswagen (VW) in Baunatal, on Monday.

A 21 year old man, who is not an employee of the plant, was assembling the robot for a new motor production line, according to the Local.de. His Meissen-based company had built the machine for the automaker.

VW spokesman Heiko Hillwig said that human error is to blame for the incident, according to the Associated Press. He said that the machine is programed to grab auto parts and manipulate them. It operates in a restricted area of the plant.

Bill Gates already warned about AI.

Stephen Hawking already warned against AI.

We don't have the luxury to wait and see. We have to assume the worst.
Let the specialists investigate any robotic software that is capable of killing humans, even in incidents only.
Tomorrow it will be too late.

That kind of reasoning will make us blind, and ultimately targets against something we have no idea of. The biggest minds on the planet, Gates and Hawking warned against AI. I prefer to listen to them, not to funny stories online of names of actors, and so on. It is not a fun!

You know assembly line robots don't have AI, do you?

Actually if it had one, it would have stopped working when a worker is in the vicinity.

Let not make the issue of a real robot killing real man, an issue of pretty innocent conversation of some reporter having the same name with some actor of a movie, that incidentally speaks of machines against humans. It is not so funny!

The industrial robots are nothing new. They have been pgraded for decades. And now it is the first "incident". How is possible a robot that grabs metal parts, to grab a human instead? Perhaps this is not the first worker moving around. If a robot can't distinguish between a moving human and a static metal part, it is a dangerous machine. If it could distinguish between, we are talking of intentional move leading to death.

Let the specialists not hide in non understandable phrases or "human error", but let they tell us the real picture, before we have the accident above on massive scale. There are 3D printers that can print everything, including jet engines, and they are commanded by similar or better software than that of the auto-assembly robot!

No I don't know. You don't know. No one of us know how far the upgrades of these robots have reached.

I call upon Bill Gates to comment the tragic incident, I call upon Stephen Hawking.

Stephen Hawking is half AI the hypocrit

This "robot" wasn't some sentient, human hating super machine. It was just an accident, no different to when a farmer gets caught in a hay bailer or someone gets crushed by a forklift.

It is, hence why it's forbidden to approach an assembly line while it's working. It's the workers fault he did not comply with security measures.

Seriously what are you even trying to suggest with this claim. That a mechanical arm from an assembly line is developping free will and try to kill humans?

Ahahahaha!!! Come on...
