Compared to almost all other sports, yes it is. Maybe $100 isn't expensive to you, but to many people it is. To rent clubs, buy balls, and pay greens fees for 18 holes will cost AT LEAST that much.

actually you can get a set of decent clubs off craigslist or ebay for about 150 bucks, they arent pings but they work...

buy balls, and pay greens fees for 18 holes will cost AT LEAST that much.

I dont buy balls, I go get the lost ones , never once have i bought a package of balls......

Also green fees with cart are usually around 40 bucks.......

Thats less than admission to amusement parks, thats less then it costs to play football with all the gear, thats less then a lot of things you mentioned......

Youre making golf sound way more elitist then it is...........like i said I worked for one of the highest end golf communities in the area......its really not that elitist, people just like to try and make it out to be

It is a bit complex, lol, as is everything about the man. I don't wish to be too mean to him as he does make a lot of work for people.

He upset the local Scottish farmers. Here is the story Mr Mask.

Donald Trump Picks the Wrong Scottish Farmers to Brawl With

He is investing big time in courses in both Scotland and Ireland. I think the locals don't like it though as it is a very elitist development where only the very rich will really be able to take advantage...as always taking advantage and very rich going hand in hand.

I can see why they would be upset, Golf started in Scotland, I could see how that woudl be a source of some pride, but not at the cost of peoples livelihoods!

Sorry but it depends on situation and area.

Sometimes people are purely poor due to stupidity. And that's certainly the case when surrounded but jobs and opportunity yet still able to take none.

There is a huge vast difference between say Detroit were there are no jobs and opportunity and people are forced into poverty and a affluent area with jobs that people are to lazy to take.

And rights are a big difference to equality. As a capitalist you should know that. All though everyone should be born with the same rights not every one is born or dies equally in a capitalist country.

I heard Donald Trump say...(and this is not a quote...but close to what he said)...he said that poor people are poor because it is what they have chosen for themselves...that they don't try hard enough to succeed and that everyone could be rich like him if they were smart enough.

Quite frankly, this country could use more of that and less "victim of circumstance" nonsense being pushed on people.

There was a time when people were told that the American Dream is attainable. Now, they're reminded why they're not responsible for their lot in life and being poor is not your fault... it's everyone else's.

victim of circumstance???........he inherited his wealth, for gods sakes....he was born already living the American dream....
www.alternet.org...'s_protection_mostly_ did_the_trick

so here's how he was a self-mad man......
1...inherit 40 to 200 million dollars from your father
2...buy rentable buildings, golf courses, casinos for 15 years
3...go into debt to the tune of 5 to 8 billion by 1990
4...get approx. 70 banks to help you with a "bail-out pact"
5...work out deals with the federal government
6...blame government interference in business publicly
7...accuse poor people of being lazy, and aggrandize your own successes

Absolutely, we had a course behind my old house in Illinois and we would carry our mini coolers full of beer and have a blast.

Everyone should give it a shot if you love the outdoors that is.

Not really.

Unlike you I am capable of analyzing individual situations , area and events rather give blanket Black/ white broad strokes.

But that's probably to complicated for you hence why your resorting to off topic ones liners.

Here have a American flag to make you feel warm and fuzzy.

I think I see what the GOP thru Donald is doing....

Bash the working man and especially the poor; play up the elitist bad guy angle. Great performance by Trump btw....

Soon we will see Jeb [the real elitist] with a bunch of campaign spots [some in Spanish] praising the middle class as the Saviors of our culture and society....the plebes will eat it up and eventually vote for him. Political brilliance...

Shell games with the voters...sweet

Evil clown vs. the Benevolent Dynasty Brilliant games-manship !

Well I wasn't referring to Trump... but thanks for all that.

Trump is a piece of shyte but the point about doing something to improve your situation and not blaming others for your problems is legitimate.

A stupid comment from a stupid person about a stupid game.

With all that money he has, you would think he would sort his hair out. But then again, maybe it's not the elite way?

Would you take more or less notice if he changed his hair?

Not really, but if he wants to be taken seriously I would have thought he would do something about it.

Maybe he should join the circus and become a proper clown.

I don't see you using your vast wealth to run for POTUS....potentially damaging your prior reputation....

He's got stupid hair - get over it.

Ha ha, if I had vast wealth, the last thing I would do is run for POTUS, because I am from the U.K.

I just can't take him serious looking the way he does and I don't have to thankfully.

Neither do I.
Our choice of pm was just as stupid.

I agree, but Cameron has a style Guru.

And he managed to blame the entire economic crash on welfare recipients and working people believed him.

Yip.
Nothing to do with his square mile pals.

He needs someone to help him going red when he speaks now.....

That's the pattern....

War is profitable for those in the know....I wonder if they have a Mutual Fund for those that profit in blood.
