Of course some people will dismiss this as being an "unreliable source" as they do for everything they don't like, but this article has some good points in it. It's staggering to see how much less we're all making than what we would be if we had all the "special rights" that the rich do- "tax cuts for the rich, deregulation of Wall Street and big increases in executive compensation."

Annnnnnd who in Washington is going to change that?

Perhaps you should change your avatar?

Nothing is going to change! This is all about "Globalism"! Check out the TPP that your president fought for! Take a look at the UN who just had troops raping children and their response? "As much as we regret what has happened to these children we need MORE MONEY!?

Follow the money and quit worshiping politicians to make things better! How long have they had to do what they promised?

I think CNN deliberately missed the mark. They mentioned the secondary effects, but not the root cause.

Sure, companies bribe politicians to pass laws to increase company profits. That's probably been going on since the birth of the nation. Bribery is all about paying the target enough to overcome any ethical dilemma. So we can assume a rise in such bribery that either the ethical standards have become much lower, or the cash available for the bribes is much higher. Maybe both.

You'll note the CNN graph goes 1979 to 2011. Even if you assume that lawmakers have become less ethical, I think we need to recognize that the cash available for the bribes has shot up quite a bit. So the question becomes, where did all this money come from? Hint: the key dates are 1971 and 1978.

Because politicians are not put in power to change buy rather keep things the way the are or continue in the same direction. Mainstream media is controlled by big companies who make big contributions. They will decide what you see and either of the two decisions is fine by them. That being said continue their beautifully made up stories while you stay distracted so they can continue their lobbying ambitions.

How about just plain old access to resources.

Thats really what you need in order to do things, people who are willing to work with you and resources. Its hard to get those things when everyone around you is always broke and when all the resources are controlled by 5 corporations and major investment groups.
