US lawmakers drop complaints that Malaysia, as a notorious slavery hub, doesn’t qualify for membership in the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement.

KUALA LUMPUR: The pending Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement (TPPA) has been sidetracked by a hitherto unknown reality on the ground; Malaysia, given its location along the Straits of Malacca, is the regional lynchpin in the thinking of the Obama Administration.

Why Malaysia is important to the TPP/TPPA:

“All of this makes a TPPA without Malaysia a TPPA that is far less strategically valuable to the US and that sends a much weaker signal to China,” said the op-ed.

While a #storm ensues of slavery in context to a flag a clause has been modified to the TPPA that will include a slavery/human tracking nation.

Earlier in the month news broke of:

Perhaps more to the point, trafficking is an integral part of the nation’s political economy, fed by surrounding countries.

There are an estimated four million foreign workers in Malaysia, with the US State Department’s 2013 Trafficking in Persons Report saying that half of them are undocumented.

Yep.
Watch out for the big bad confederate flag.

But actual slavery, we're OK with that.

A clause to allow human trafficking? You have to be F-ing kidding me. This is how we send a strong signal to China?

If this is the only way Obama can send a strong message then he needs to step down and admit he is incompetent.

He said America has 57 States. The human trafficking between Thailand and other countries is no different than S.American, Central American people getting into the USA. Some get raped, die, imprisoned as sex slaves and so on, and yes, some end up working at a dairy farm of a politician. The game is rigged, simple to understand.

The causes to be railed around are hypocritical. Where's the outrage about this? Granted it will fall silent on most media all the while the POTUS is getting ready to sign it in. Watch for an event filled day for that.
