This is my first post so I hope it's in the correct area...

Current global satellite shows some rather strange cloud formations-
you can follow the link and look at the very top.

Any thoughts on the shape or what would cause these?

What you are seeing at the very top of the image is a mirror effect.. the same thing would happen if you pour ink in the center of a paper fold it in half and then open it up.. if you look real close you can see the line of the effect in the image... it is an exact same image mirrored on either side of the line.... not sure what the cause is but it is nothing to worry about.

By the way.. Welcome to ATS

Welcome to ATS freud! I have to agree with UM_Gazz and say that this is just a mirror effect. I have never been on that site but it's pretty cool so thanks for the link.

I saw the weirdest cloud formation i've ever seen the other day. Imagine this: One long (about 200m?) very thin line of cloud with long fingers of cloud coming off it perpendicular to the original line. The fingers were evenly spaced and also about 200m long (I think, kinda hard to tell) and there were about 20 of them along the length of the original line, it looked freaky as hell.
