Actually, similar fences worked extremely well for the Egyptians on the Sinai, but let's not get facts in the way....

NBC to Donald Trump: You’re Fired

NBC just told Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential candidate and former star of “The Celebrity Apprentice” reality show, that he’s fired. Following inflammatory remarks that Mr. Trump made about Mexican immigrants during his presidential announcement, NBC said in a statement that it was ending its business relationship with the billionaire real estate and media mogul. During his June 16 announcement, Mr. Trump referred to immigrants as “rapists” and “murderers.” Citing “derogatory statements,” NBC said that it would no longer air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants that were part of a joint venture with the network.

I really can't blame NBC for this.

I can, those pc pussies

Some of the crazy things that come out of his mouth would make it hard to take him, or anything connected with him seriously. Looking forward to his reply to this though. Maybe he'll try to sue NBC like he's threatened to sue Univision.

He speaks his mind and it's mostly true.
If you want to immigrate to the U.S. then please go through the proper channels and not a hole in the border.

Oh, no! THey fired him so that he can't work for them which he can't, as a Presidential candidate, do anyway.

Non-news.

While we do need a president who will speak boldly, we don't need someone who will insult other nations, cultures, and races without thought. Trump has proved he has a loose mouth and will do just that.

*If* Trump someone miraculously became president, I would fear for our world relations even more. He'd likely insult too many people for ANY diplomatic negotiations to take place.

Good thing NBC dumped him.

You must prefer the ones who insult and demonize American culture?

Ironic that even corporations hated Trump.

Is that a bad thing? I myself can't stand corporations and how they are "raping" and "murdering" this country, and the world! Who gives a rats arse who they dislike. Just makes me like the Donald even more, because they can't buy him like every other worthless politician.

"I like Mexico. I love the Mexican people. I do business with the Mexican people, but you have people coming through the border that are from all over. And they're bad. They're really bad," he told CNN's Jake Tapper.

"You have people coming in, and I'm not just saying Mexicans, I'm talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and they're coming into this country," he maintained.

Trump also said this!

Can't believe anyone can get upset over this when it's the simple truth. Plus, he's not referring to everyone but those who are illegally crossing the border...they are bad, and some are "real bad." Unreal, but that's why they (the media and the politicians) can't stand him, cuz he's a straight shooter and tells it how it is.

I'm not saying I'd even vote for him yet or not, cuz he probably won't stick around long enough to be a serious candidate, but I sure hope he does because at the very least, he's shake up this election...and that's what this country needs.

You mean like OBAMA has alienated US allies like the UK, and came across like a fool with Russia ?
Or Obama's foreign policy failures with Egypt, Iran, Libya....actually, name one foreign policy success...oh right...ZERO!!

Trump, or anyone else, could hardly do worse.

You really don't pay much attention to reality do you, only what you're fed.

That's a shame.

Otherwise, I'm not debating Obamas perceived failures because it has nothing to do with this thread.

Good night.

That in itself is enough to vote for the guy. He may be a loudmouth but he is at least 25% right.

And can a single person here tell me they honestly think Donald Trumps companies do not hire illegals? Because you would be wrong. Trump Tower itself was built with help of illegals who later sued trump over pay and work conditions. Trump has also been sued by unions for using illegal labor. Trump claims he does not know who works for him. So I just nobody really buys what Trump is selling his construction business and casinos all use illegals. Notice how Trump never looks to hard at his own business, if he cared at all do you not think he would start with his own company?

I must agree with you're assessment of the illegal employment situation but the current problem is more complex than just illegal workers. The border is so porous at this point that it must be closed. We have bombed and destroyed too many countries, creating a multitude of foreign nationals that would like nothing more than to infiltrate our southern border and wreck havoc on our society in retaliation. We are under attack because of our criminal actions overseas and there are just too many looking for revenge at this point. Given that fact plus the drug situation, our borders truly need to be sealed.

Well, if an untrained person who can't speak English can take your job -- you might want to re-think just how valuable your job skills are.

Meh. Illegals can be paid far less because they need to be paid under the table. I don't think this is the issue.

We're not loosing high-paying engineers, scientists, doctors, lawyers to illegal immigration.

I forgot that all Americans had the educational opportunities to land jobs like these. ALL American jobs matter, not just the ones that require 6 + years of education.

If anything we should be scrutinizing the companies that are hiring the illegals for cheap labor.

Agreed.

Unlike the Egyptians, We have 2 Mega Lobbying industries benefiting directly from illegal immigration. The are enticing and encouraging illegal immigration into this country.

Build the fence and they will still come because Our American companies want them here for their cheap undocumented slave labor wages and accountability.

Until you prosecute the Companies hiring them no Fence will keep them out, because they have the backing of Mega Corporations behind them with maga dollars. All we will do is throw money at the fence and the politicians behind it will be more than happy to pick it up.

What ever fence that goes up will be just a façade if you don't take care of the real problem and go after companies that are directly benefiting from illegal immigrants.

Yes lets look at the facts.

1. Is there a problem with Canadians coming illegally into America? No
2. Is there an equivalent fence on the Canadian border? No

The main reason illegals are coming here from Mexico is because of the Jobs that two of the largest lobbying industry are providing them. The Agriculture and the Hospitality industry are direct benefactors of cheap, undocumented slave labor.

Take away their incentive to get jobs here by prosecuting illegal immigrant employers , and you don't need a fence just like in the Canadian border.

Donald trump and anyone else that thinks we need a fence to handle illegal immigration in this country is naive at best, if not trying to capitalize on never letting a crisis go to waste.

A fence is the brute force solution that will not be sustainable in the long run.

I don't disagree with much of what you said.

However, if you stop the incentive for the majority of the illegals coming into this country that are trying to just make a better living for themselves and their families, you will have a lot more resources available to stop the rotten apples. In addition, they will be a lot easier to spot and target.

Firing someone over political remarks is a low blow. While I don't like Trump, I still hope Trump sues and wins.

No, he did not say Mexicans were rapists. He said illegal immigrants were rapists. That is quite a big, big difference. So, he is insulting illegal immmigrants, not Mexicans. Anytime articles like this refuse to quote the supposedly offending material, its only because they are point blank liars. Otherwise, you'd have a quote if what you were saying was true.

Also, putting words in other people's mouth is morally wrong. Republicans will probably only rally to his support because they'll gain sympathy from the political attack artists that Trump associated himself with.

If NBC actually cared to give dignity or respect for humans in general, instead of cheap-shotting their enemies when it is convenient for them, then they could have actually just said the truth and stood up against calling people names even if they have broken the law. So not only are they liars who deserve to be sued and lose badly, but they are also a disgrace to humanity and don't even stand by the people they pretend to care for, illegal immigrants.

I got a feeling their is more to this than his comments ,and they saw this as a opportunity to capitalize on.

The implication was that Mexicans are rapists, which is blatantly false. Regardless of whether he meant legal or not, that was his insulting implication. And even if he WAS clear, to say that illegal immigrants are rapists is insulting and false.

Firing someone over political remarks is not low blow when those remarks are in the private sector. That why it's a PRIVATE business with its own rule JUST LIKE ATS. Free speech does not extend to the private sector and NBC has every right to refuse to air his shows. If they break contract, yes they should pay, but that's their business.

Yes but they don't work in America. If that idiot Trump were to actually go to the fences that we have built he would see that the Mexicans just tunnel under them or climb over.

Trump can be bought just like a whore on the street. He owes banks so much money if they told him to do a pole dance in the middle of times square he would do it.

I was wondering about that, but I can't find anything in FEC rules or anything to back up that assertion... Do you have a source? The only thing I can find relates to an incumbent candidate receiving a salary from his campaign funds in addition to his political office salary, not from the private sector. Source

Univision Defends Dropping Trump

Trump has said that he fired NBC! LOL! And he also claims that Univision apologized for firing him, which they say is patently false.

"There have been a number of ridiculous assertions bordering on the bizarre, made from different people, that the Mexican government put pressure on us, that we were under political pressure to hurt a Republican candidate's chances to the nomination, or that we were trying to assist other political candidates," he wrote. "None of this is remotely true."

Falco pointed out that Univision is a "U.S. based company."

And he added, "I can also assure you that we never apologized because we have nothing to apologize for."
