Bruce Lee vs Muhammad Ali. Who would win. and other unanswerable questions.

Lee VS Ali-
Not a fair fight IMO.
Although both are/were awesome fighters.

Bruce would win in less than a minute,no question-its all about technique.
But its not fair to compare the two,its like comparing a cobra to a lion.
Although the lion is much bigger and stronger,the cobra could kill the mighty lion without the lion even being aware of its presence until it felt the bite,and by then its too late.


It ain't the size of the dog in the fight,its the size of the fight in the dog.

No disrespect to Ali.

Also you have to factor in who wants it more, If Lee had insulted Ali's mother it could give him the edge.

how is it a toss up about who had more fight experience?

ali had a ton and bruce had next to none.

a few back alley brawls in the back of the dance hall does not give one much experience. working the wooden man with yip does not teach you how to react to being blasted.
that was an area he was severely lacking.

of course he was in great physical shape. had great cardio.
his fight philosophy is one of the best.

all that said, he didnt actually fight.

a couple demo's at tournies and a few back alley fights do not make a fighter.

Are people serious? One of the greatest fighters who ever lived vs an actor! Lee admitted he wouldn't stand a chance against Ali, "he'd kill me".

bruce was fast but ali was fast too. ali was also in great shape.

ali had more than 60 pro fights.
gold medal winner in the olympics.
something like 6 golden gloves titles.

im glad you said that because it is his fans than kind of ruin it.

im a huge fight fan. martial arts in general and mma. catch wrestling.

people seem to think that lee was as bad ass as he was in his movies.
they pass off things from the movie dragon: the bruce lee story as real events that actually happened.

people think he was the toughest mofo on the planet.

i have always been a fan of his fight philosophy. about not giving up. about if some tears your flesh you try to take their life.....be like water....that kind of stuff.

Ali,although much bigger and stronger,would not be immune to the plethora of bone snapping,incapacitating attacks in Lee's arsenal.

Size and power just does not come in to the equation when faced with the techniques practiced by Bruce lee or other committed martial artists.

A child can break a grown man's neck with a few pounds of pressure,if the correct technique is applied.

size and power always play a factor.
if 2 people are the exact same height, weight, reach, age, etc etc then of course the better technician will decide it.

when there are huge weight and reach advantages then size and power is very much a factor.

ive seen lots of fights where the technician simply can not make it happen due to the power of the other guy.

early mark coleman and mark kerr come to mind.

i could probably rattle off 100 people off the top of my head right now that i would be confident in the fact that they could put the hurt on bruce lee.

Ali couldn't rope a dope his way threw a fight with Lee. Lee was to fast and to shifty. Wouldn't even be close. One heart punch and all over with but the crying.

I have seen massive muscled street fighter trained doormen/street fighters destroyed by much smaller opponents who used alternative or unconventional techniques.

I guess it always depends on the individual and the motivation.

then it says he started teaching in the states in 1959.
so in two years he became this super human bad mofo?

i think not.

there is a difference between a martial artist and a fighter.

then there is a demo in 1964...the beloved and untouchable 1 inch punch.


then there was a fight against wong man in 1964.

then in 66 he started acting.


im confused as to when he became this bad ass fighter.

what qualifies him as that?

he several street fight losses, his 1 inch punch demo, or his 1 win against wong jack man?

I simply meant that the fight in question is meant to create two seperate camp's the Lee was a ninja crew vs the Ali was a world champ and athelete Crew.

It can never be resolved and therefore just keeps going...

Yeah,because we all know hitler was such a "great leader" right?
He led his entire country to the brink of apocalypse due to his insane policies.

Dead Bruce Lee pisses all over hitler with philosophy alone,let alone technique.
