Your life on earth

I ran across this on Stumble, which I use pretty often, just to see what's out there on the net. This site, after you enter your birthday, shows how the world has changed since you were born. For instance, since I was born in '64, sea level has risen 44 ft. My heart has beat 2 billion times. The population has increased by 4 billion. [ jeez you guys need a hobby - other than that! ] A redwood has grown 64 ft. It's actually quite interesting if you think about it. Being able to see how the world has changed in 50 years and not all of them are good. Many more animal species are under threat and the planet has gotten 3 degrees warmer.

Not from what I read the other day about the corrected version. Plus, sea levels around the globe are not all raising at the same rate.

I have been brought up - and are currently living total - coastal !!

The reef breaks move as does the rest of the near shore structures.

It has all happened before.

King tides can be devastating !!

No ... not Tsunami ... King Tides ...

Our surf club lost plenty in a huge king tide back a while ...

30 - 40m concrete ramp - smashed to bits by the pounding of the waves ...

Tore our beach a new one so to speak ...

( tourism - no go - add to the woes )

Not whingeing !!

I can hear the roar of the surf as I type !
