So a chihuahua wouldn't have any problems in the arctic? Humans migrated as we grew, tribal Africans do just fine in their natural environments as do inland South American tribes. Humans fit just fine on this planet

Aren't humans only doing what comes 'naturally' though..? Where 'we' come from and what is our purpose are debatable questions, however there is no denying the fact that humans have instinctual qualities that are a part of our 'natural' make up.. In other words, nature itself is flawed...

I think I know where people are disagreeing with you. There are animals that have to create/build structures to survive, eg the caddisfly. The Caddisfly is like an insect version of a hermit crab, but it builds it's own shell using surrounding materials. In fact you can supply odd, non-natural materials, and providing they are suitable, the Caddisfly will use them too. Without a shell it would get eaten by predators and hurt my the surrounding elements.

Plenty of emperor penguins freeze each season if they do not actively move and stay on an 'inward' journey within their group to stay insulated, essentially by other live penguins.

But hey, I 100% agree with your idea that humans do not seem like a fully natural species to this planet, and I think there is plenty of other credible and interesting as heck facts to still suggest this. My favorite mind bender on the subject is the unused chromosomes that humans apparently have that no other species has. Yet, we have chromosomes in common with spinach, spiders and amoeba, as they also have in common with each other.

I'm not certain how close to an extinction event earth really is as I am no scientist, but I know it doesn't hurt to study the subject of our impact as long as we keep a healthy perspective on it. I think there is also a huge motivation to make profit off selling books/movies/media on fear-porn and sometimes mock science (as well as carbon taxes), so it's healthy to be skeptical until theories are proven.

Does life really suck that much for you?

What if we are the last?

This species will self-destruct in 10... 9... 8.....

As I have said many times, humans are the only species that does not quite fit into the "natural to planet earth" environment.

For instance, we create artificial structures to protect us from the planets natural climate and can get sunburned in an instant and die within a few minutes in cold temperatures - unless we cloth ourselves accordingly - something no other species needs to do.

We did not come from this planet - we were introduced to it - and we are doing a mighty job of destroying it.

Now, I must run, I've got to get to the mall because the TV told me there is a sale on - 50% off - bargain.

We've evolved as such.

Hey, I'm interested: if someone here follows msm news: have you seen this study mentioned in any mass media outlet?
It's pretty damn significant. I dare say it's more significant than people shooting people.

There is no doubt we are having a huge effect on thus planet.. Our home.
But just as humans evolved I believe the planet will evolve to accommodate us.

No it wont. We are terrible husbands to this planet and it will shake us off like water on a dog.

I apologise but I will also absolutely reject any words that make no sense to me.

Its very absence tells its story. So the story is ...hold on...absence is the ...wut?
Oblique existence means nothing to me. ...
You do not have to let it take control of your life as you are describing it...this makes absolutely no sense to me.

Can you help me out with this?

Sure, God is absent; so we invent it/one to suit ourselves. Even though a total fabrication we expect it to perform like a living breathing Creator. Your existence is oblique, ill defined without a creator being that automatically takes the blame or accolades for your creation/reason for being (a failure or an outstanding person in this life).

Yes Shiloh, the bilderbergs want a global tax any way they can get it, whether it's convincing people they are killing off every species and therefore we must have only one square of top a day and live like sardines in the planned cities with our bikes and bike trails or if its the financial transaction tax the Occupy stooges were pushing because the socialist central planners in Europe and union leader Richard Trumka were masterminding it. (although I hate to say it but Soros is the real master planner of that).

We are a part of nature, but we are rebelling against it. Cities are not natural, burning fossil fuels is not natural, fracking is not natural, huge trash dumps are not natural, polluting waters with man-made poisons is not natural, etc.

I'm not removing humans from nature, I am only pointing out that we are going against the natural order.

Hmmm, who keeps telling us what NATURE is ?

Nature goes against Nature all the time, getting pretty boring in the Universe with the claims that some system is at play here.

NATURAL is a nice form of deception, the parameters forged for you, presented to you, as if it is perfect and "how it should be" or "is".

I contend that NATURAL does not exist, and never did, and certainly never will.

That is because we are not entirely "natural", we are an imperfect creation. By design.

The human could have gone one of two ways... Inevitable extinction, the way of the animal species, or to advance beyond our flawed, sinful and evil inherent nature.

Can you guess the way we are going?

Got a century, or less to figure it out.

Again, the shocked masses in every section of ALL THAT IS, are going to recognize that the EVERYTHING is imperfect, created in a not quite perfect system once the SOURCE of it all deleted itself forever.

Over time the imperfections have only grown, and now, we have it like a corrupted Windows File System, it cannot be deleted , no harddrive exists, no recycle bin, no off button....

No techs that no how to reverse or undo, and a hell of a lot of super advanced beings who cannot believe the imperceptible creep to every increasing loss, has now rendered them utterly useless.

And they would stop humanity ??? The last hope created as BY THEM, to try and do something new!!!

The countdown is on, the countdown to everlasting nothingness, and just us, here, with the actual tools to do something about it....

As unlikely as it seems, a great last attempt will be made to remove the fearful ones from allowing this new path....

It is a lose/lose from their perspective, but then again, they have been lost for over a Trillion Years, it is time to end the charade.

I know it's a bit of an abstract thought, but what if biological life's "purpose" is to consume, or process, it's available resources for some other function in the universe? What if life evolves to better consume it's host, and it's function ends? It might be considered a rather "grim" view from our perspective, and I can't discern any obvious function from the consumption of resources required for biological life on our planet, but our understanding of the universe as a whole is very rudimentary. It is a possibility this drama plays out countless times across countless planets. Or not.

I'm not sure nature really sees things as perfect or imperfect. Imperfection I guess would be an evolve state that ends up in a dead end, I guess, but all of that is really a human concept only. Life on earth has been wiped out a number of times over the course of our 4.5 billion year history, so all this talk about healthy earth or unhealthy earth is also a human concept....

Secret... Earth doesn't give a crap if all life once again comes and goes, it just opens the door for a new direction for life start all over once again.

If this is true then we only have ourselves to blame

No,NO,NO, and NO.

Supposedly the '6th' one.

So who,and WHAT cause the first 5 ?

I had no idea other species mastered metallurgy to create steel, glass, plastic ARTIFICIAL structures.

Artificial does not include sticks and things NATURAL to the environment.

ETA...@Syyth007, and my friend above

Our NATURAL skin does not protect us from the natural elements we choose to exist in - other species NATURAL skin protects them from the natural elements that those species exist in. Killer whales do not suffer from hypothermia, lizards do not get sunburned etc etc

We create clothing to suit those environments so we survive and stay protected.

Birds don't need denim jackets

Hey dude, we create those things so that we can live in ANY habitat, not because we need to to survive...

How could there have been a "65 million years ago" if the Earth was created only in the last ~6,000 years?

Because saying time from a geological perspective and from a primitive man's perspective is like pointing to a snowball and telling an eskimo that's snow...

That something geologically happened ~65milion years ago does NOT mean that the earth has traveled 65 million times around the sun in that same time frame. Primitive man would only be referencing the number of times that the earth has traveled around the sun.

If you don't understand the above, research special/relativity and space/time and the implications of a stretching universe.
