The end of the human race?

I think they have vastly underestimated the tenacity of the human mindset. It is true that civilisation as we understand the term, will end at some point. All things do eventually, but I do not believe that all human life on this planet will end or be in the process of ending within the next hundred years.

There are reserves of determination and ingenuity within the human race which renders this prediction somewhat inaccurate. It is fair to say that what we know of our species, and the way its societies interact, the way those societies are structured, will likely change drastically. But the skin of the Earth would have to be aflame, and the crust of the Earth would have to be riven into nothing but lava strewn, fractured insanity, before the human species actually comes to an end. We adapt. We survive.

Scientists usualy base their pradiction models on data from past known events, so the model for predicting humanitys demise will likely be based on previous extinctions of other species such as population size, birth rates, length of period in existance and survival success rates. Then add into the equation all the variables of humanitys current predicament to get a guesstimation for our shelf life. But there are a few very important facts that are conveniently left out! First, we human beings are without question the most successful species to have existed on earth so far, we have achieved more in the short time (in evolutionary terms) we have existed than all other species past and present. We humans are so far beyond any other earth life with our inteligence that if we survive for as long as the dinosours or even the wooly mammoth we will probably evolve into beings of pure energy capable of physicaly manifesting our thoughts into reality and having multi dimensional lives where we live moving from one reality to another and living for eternity. We're not going to perish within 100 years, we're so adaptable to different climates and challanging terrains that we inhabit almost the whole planet in all earths differing climates we thrive, so i dont think a 2degree change will effect our ability to survive. We will adapt and overcome becaouse we've evolved to fast and to far not to.

Humans are notoriously adaptive little monkeys.

Earth gets too cold, we'll live in heated homes/cities. Earth gets too warm, we'll live in air conditioned homes/cities. This includes having climate controlled growing areas, hydroponics, etc.

It might mean major changes, but climate change doom porn isn't really going to scare me. Especially at 2 degrees celsius.

This is fear rhetoric. I certainly believe in man made climate change, but this is just a left-wing blog promoting doom no different than a right wing blog promoting doom because of the "gay agenda" or whatever. Just trash writing.

Let's just stick to what the scientists are ACTUALLY saying instead of just randomly assuming things about their conclusions and projections. Clearly bloggists like this areone of the reasons that so many Conservatives have trouble believing in man-made climate change.
