so im looking through the add ons from the kodi site.
there is a lot of crap but the question is, is it any good?

looks like theyre just apps.

i clicked on the syfy add on just to see the description.

all it says is 1080 vids from syfy.

so we talking like 3 vids or 3,000 vids?

i would be willing to buy the box and start exploring as long as i know the content is decent

I would not pirate movies not only for the civil problems you may get into but the spiritual problems.

The FBI logo at the start of a movie actually cleanses you of elohim(demons)and the movie after that does not send any elohim into your body.

Trust me buy yourself a cheap dvd player and get yourself dvd movies they are very very cheap.

Ah no, these are mostly just Linux boxes with specific software for cracked or moded Xbox consoles.

Source

They were never approved by Microsoft, void your warranty it seems.

The content they would get it from illegal sources, many are available.

I would suggest staying away.

ETA: In essence, it's no different than a ROKU box, just free, open source applications and content.

Its not piracy its completely legal to live stream videos movies etc, especially since you are not downloading anything. I use the program, you do not need a box at all. I use it, it is super awesome anything you want even kids shows from 30+ years ago The quality is HD 80% of the time.
Just download Kodi and use the tutorials from Youtube. PM me if you have any other questions, I can send you the the link to DL the program, there are a lot of fake Kodi programs out there to fool you.

i built a computer that runs windows and uses XBMC as somewhat of a dual boot,
use a program called couch potato, tell it what shows/movies that you like
once it has a good amount of content you can use the television feature, which takes the films and categorize's into
genre's and creates television channels that you can flip through or skip to the next show at anytime just like a tv box

This is very similar to the Android box's that you can buy online for a few hundred bucks

you can than link internet feeds to this aswell so you can watch twitch.tv
or another live stream or online stream sites you would like to use aswell.

if you have an old pc lying around its not hard to make it into a dedicated pc tv box. and bind it with STEAM games ect.

I've never heard of it but here's a user review of the box.

The first year is free but after that it runs on subscription.

It's worth the investment purely for Genesis.

Awesome machines!

Like Enament says, try downloading XBMC/Kodi for your desktop & trying it out. You'll have to Google how to properly set up, simply there's so much that needs to be done in the back end (installing repositories etc).

That's the beauty of the box version... plug & play baby!

Every add on offers different channel content, different countries and languages etc... What you would be looking for is Total XBMC installer use the most recent date available. Look it up on Youtube it takes 10 - 30 + min but its worth it.

There is no subscriptions on the Android boxes don't be fooled, one time purchase no subscription. Or DL and do it manually for free and no box. I do it manually for free and with no box. Half of the people responding to you have no clue about anything about this.

The subscription is for the premium services (movies) offered by the box , after the first year you can still use the box and it's basic services like youtube without renewing the subscription.

There's absolutely no subscription required to watch movies, TV shows, live channels etc on a XBMC box.

I know because I use one - It's free from the point of purchase.

The only subscriptions are completely voluntary - sometimes people opt to subscribe to certain premium streams, in order to guarantee reliable streaming of HD sports channels.

Must have been some major updates since the last time I put my hands one one.

Glad to hear it's come a long way, I might try the desktop version and see.
