I have never seen it, I want to but I'm afraid it might be outdated, is this the case guys? Does it stand the test of time?

It's not outdated, in my humble. It's not about special effects (though those are awesome) it's about what makes us human.

I didn't like it, not a fan of Harrison Ford or Ridley Scott.

This is a Phillip K. Dick book titled, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? -".It's a great story Sean Young & Harrison Ford are in it. Check out Phillip K. Dick too.

I'd say it stands the test of time better than
any other movie I know, sci-fi or otherwise.

"Replicants are like any other machine. They're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, it's not my problem."

"Have you ever retired a human by mistake?"

"You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?"

"My mother? I'll tell you about my mother!"

In my top 5 all time faves.
Soundtrack is also very good.
I hope the new movie is as good but I doubt it.

I watched it a couple of ago and was in total shocked it came out in 1982.

One of my favourite movies, Ridley Scott is a genius.

See it. See it before they unload the remake.

It wears well. The really good movies do.

And then, read the book.

I only saw it after it was "outdated."

It's nice. I couldn't believe some of the effects. I saw the matrix movies before I saw it.

Actually it's the only deep movie I didn't decide to watch a bunch of times.

Not sure why... I've watched it once. I've seen all of the matrix movies not sure how many times.. Even used them as a map on a few occasions.. If I remember Blade runner correctly at all (over 10 years ago) I think it has a similar meaning to the last matrix movie.. Not so much with Neo as with his near final choice.

I'll have to watch it again. Maybe later tonight.
I Love great movies. Makes me emotional.

There are about three different endings that were made for it. Perhaps an expert can give us some details without being a spoiler.

O....M....G! You have such a treat in store.

With stunning visual effects for it's time and the greatest movie soundtrack ever created it will be a feast to your senses. Couple that with an incredibly intelligent story written originally by one of the great masters of science fiction and a screenplay that leaves one thinking about it and having moments of revelation for practically the rest of your life, no film will ever top it imo.

The acting is superb and directed with poignancy and atmosphere. Superb performances by Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer and Sean Young who plays "Rachel" is an absolute babe....for a replicant

Have a great watch and I'm certain you'll watch it again and again as I have and still do.

Don't forget to check yourself for a barcode afterwards.
