Are you so sure of this neighbour? There is a strong body of evidence that epigenetics effects sexuality. This implies that yes people are indeed born gay.

It is typical religious ignorance of the facts.

"I quit this horrible addiction" thus "I consider homosexuals to be addicted to their behavior" QED "they too can do it".

Yet almost every person who "undergoes these therapies" fails. Why? Because its not unnatural (unless you are a religious bigot). Those who are "successes" are most likely bisexual and thus are inclined that way with the right partner.

I am not even going to get into the snake oil of the AA
There are better ways to help addicts.

So why are there gay Christians? If Christianity teaches being gay is a grave sin then why do they still "choose" to be gay? Answer that paradox.

If being gay isn't natural, then why do Christians say it's ok as long as they don't act on their feelings? Obviously not acting on them doesn't "cure" them, so why even make that argument at all unless there's some kind of deep-seeded feeling that it can't be avoided by some?

The Logical answer, is because God could care less about your sexuality. But hey what do I know? I've never been a Christian, Jew, or Muslim (the main religions who have an issue with sexuality).

I'm going to state, I have zero stake in the argument, as I'm not gay.

I agree.

I think Cuervo's post on the first page answered it beautifully.

The same reason why some preachers are chimo's. It's called free will although a pretty sick one I might add. But that doesn't make it natural. Anyone claiming to be christian yet practices homosexuality needs their head examined. Clearly they are not reading the same Bible everyone else is. And just because someone who claim to be christian are doing things that are against Biblical teachings does not mean that such behavior is ok in the eyes of God.

Get real. First of all in order to even be gay you have to have sex first, and no one that has been born came out having sex. Sex is a taught behavior. Once you learn what sex is that is when you make your choice of which gender your going to sleep with. Therefore everyone who is gay is gay by choice, it was not forced upon them.

No, sorry not sorry..

So in order to be Gay you have to have Same-Sex, yet you don't have Same-Sex until you "Select" to be gay, so before you have Sex you must be attracted to the Same-Sex to want to have Sex...

i never selected, or picked When i was Gay, i've been Gay since i was Born

chimo(Canada) hello; goodbye.

Chimo was incorporated into English by an act of the Federal Government of Canada in 1967 in an effort to create a national greeting akin to ciao or aloha. The word was somewhat popular during the Canadian centennial celebrations, but in current use is mostly ironic

If a Canadian wants to say chimo that's sick?

Oh wait. Urban dictionary has a different definition. Ohh! That's illegal. People can be prosecuted for that.

We all know RTS knows you better than you do! If he says you chose to be gay then you chose to be gay, end of discussion!

All hail mighty RTS! He knows all and decides all!

Pure ignorance.

No you haven't. Some where in life you were taught what sex was. Maybe you were molested by an uncle or something and grew up thinking that was the right way to go. Or maybe, you saw some other guy in the shower who had a bigger tool than you and thought to yourself "I want a piece of that". I'm not saying those things happened to you I'm just giving an example. Either way, it was learning what sex was that brought the desire upon you. Without the knowledge of sex you would have no desire to sleep with someone of the same gender.

Because you know him better than he knows himself right? You're the one that lived his life, not him.

No joke, that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read.

I know that neither him or anyone else for that matter has ever been born gay. Like I said, homosexuality is a taught behavior which requires the knowledge of sex in order to be carried out. The sooner people understand that fact the more it will make sense that it is impossible for anyone to be born gay.

Yet Christians who were taught that homosexuality is a sin still turn out to be gay and even go out of their way to resist their homosexual urges. Some even go to camps to "pray away the gay" with no success.

How do you explain someone being taught homosexuality is blasphemous still turning out to be gay?

So, do you have Proof? serious question..

So you are certain i was never born gay, i was never molested, i wasn't allowed to shower with my ""Father"" if you can call him that, i wasn't exposed to porn, my ""Parents"" (again if you have to call them that) never talked to me about sex...

i mean, if we are born without a sexuality, and then somewhere we decide we can be Gay or Straight and we can "Switch" at will, you can see yourself being Gay.. i guess you are saying we are all born Bisexual?

LOL... so celibate gay people don't exist?

What nonsense... I knew a guy who knew he was gay in grade 2... long before he even considered having sex...

get your facts straight brother... being gay isn't a choice...

And the only ones who believe it is a choice are those who believe in the bible... and not even all of those believe it

Alot of people do things that they know are wrong, but that doesn't make it right. For some homosexuality, is a very bad addiction, kinda of like a dope addict. I'm not saying it's something that one could just turn off, you have to want to turn it off, some don't. But I would say that those who are struggling and want to change good for them, at least they acknowledge what they are doing is wrong and trying to better themselves, as opposed to those who just accept it and try to say God made them that way so it's ok.

God did make them that way. Homosexuality isn't a strictly human thing if you didn't already know, pretty much every animal species has their homosexual brothers and sisters.
