Analyzing the nature of an election provides us with an answer. In order to win an election, candidates need to offer their supporters other people's wealth, and candidates must convince their supporters to vote in spite of the fact that individual votes will not affect the election. Accomplishing these two goals requires deception. Therefore, candidates who are willing to violate property rights — to steal — and be deceptive have an advantage over candidates with stronger moral convictions. So of course elected officials are corrupt. Candidates with moral integrity are at a severe disadvantage in the political sphere. Do not put your hope in political solutions.

They are corrupt because if they weren't, the system would never allow them to be elected.

Other people's wealth has started to dry up. Next they will sell your flesh like a chattel slave. The TPP will force new Pharma poison down your throat and hand even more power to banks. By the time most people wake up, they'll be praying for Russia and China to open up WW3.

In the words of Lord Acton," Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

And plus most of the time, to be a politician, one has to have a mind of a serial killer.

Look at the candidates.

One frantically deleted her emails that should've been sent through an official account.

One is the brother and son of warmongers that had vested interests.

One has vested business interests and no political experience.

Be afraid America...Be very very afraid.

Why all politicians are corrupt?

They're souless ghouls, utterly devoid of virtue and righteousness.
Indeed, they are a lower order of evolution with which decent human beings were meant to hold no commerce with.

To be fair with trump, you do need to have a grasp on politics to run international business and he has more economic savy than any lawyer will have. Can't vote for that hair tho.

That's how the old saying goes, "The problem with socialism is, eventually you run out of other peoples money.

Aside your rather common sense description of our broken system (spot on BTW), I think even altruistic newcomers that get elected to Congress seldom stay focused or altruistic.
But the problem is two fold, as you so eloquently pointed out the first, the second being, even if they aren't corrupted by the time they get seated in the Senate or the House. Your not a player unless your in league with the chair persons. And you have no hope of ever chairing a committee or having any real ability to exact changes unless you play ball with the old time politicians (which is the problem)
It was this that convinced me term limits and mandatory fiscal budgeting by our leaders (cant spend more than you take in) would be paramount toward fixing anything, without these two first, it simply won't happen.

IF you really want to know the hard truth of why politician's are corrupt look no further that 'we the people'.

Washington is a reflection of us. Garbage in Garbage out.

That will never change. Until the people change.

Despite all the human frailties, if a politician is to do their job and reflect the will of the people they will most likely turn into a schizophrenic mess trying to process all the conflicts and opposing points of view in the debates.

There is only so much a single person can do effectively, put too much on their shoulders and they just break down. As the populations grow so does the challenges, complexities and issues. If our current system of social organisation and control is already failing, what options do we have to upgrade it?

Perhaps there might also be another reason this claim is true, there is also another factor that cause politicians to become owned by powerful interests, and that is the way the system is structured.

This idea of electing a few hundred people to 'rule' the xyz millions plays into the hands of the powerful extremely will. For them its a perfect arrangement. They only have gain control of a few hundred and through them, they can control the xyz millions, This extremely convenient arrangement enables the the elite to remain the government of the government but also remain unseen.

If we the people, were the only 'Upper House" there was and some rules were agreed that ensured all important laws had to be passed by 'the Upper House' via a referendum then there would be far harder to the elite to exercise control of the xyz millions and 'we the people' would again be the rulers and the govt would go back to being the servants.

Actually I tend to believe that power attracts corrupt people.

While power attracts corruption, it doesn't explain the pure face that while in power, corruption continues to grow uninhibited.

You'd think eventually power would breed fairness, since human nature is to actually be fair, we share food when we have too much with others who haven't enough, we actually do care about one another, however if you're in these power struggles with others for high ranking seats, you tend to stop thinking of those you serve and only serve yourself.

So it's more or less mob mentality than anything else.

How would we fix this? We make those elected only report to the people and outlaw lobbyist.

If the paradigm is shifting, it isn't shifting towards new pharmaceuticals. I can guarantee you that. The pharmaceutical industry is in decline.
