Hi

It appears that all mobile phone networks are down in the UK. I have tried to find what's going down but no luck. Has there been any faults reported or anything more sinister?

Will update if it has been something sinister.

OP must have read it in a facebook newsfeed or something, obviously true if a few 'friends' have shared and liked it.

Come on, tell us why you think all UK networks are down?
Your source of info was obviously important enough for you to start the thread, and we've had responses from most corners of England now saying it's fine, so what made you think all UK networks were down?

...as an aside, if such an event were to happen it is good that the question could be asked and answered on ATS, but then if it was 'sinister' we'd probably lose landline internet as well.

OP seems to have bailed on us, but good to see Scotland reporting in as well that their mobile network is equally fine, cheers Alienscot1.

local cells can fail in power failures as they only have small battery back up that's good for maybe an hour in a quiet area
minutes in somewhere like central London however the mobile networks share resources to some degree
and are split in to regional switching centres scattered around the country it would take something rather
catastrophic to occur to bring down even a large portion never mind the lot.
