If the sahara was a forest it would rain every single day.

The Sahara has not always been a desert. Why is it now?

But tell me, how much rain does the Pacific Northwest get? It's not equatorial, is it?

Almost NONE the last 4 years in comparison, hasn't rained in 7 weeks really.

I guess I should admit that evil everyday humans are to blame !!

For not protesting loud enough to stop the evil companies who bypass the scientists on the payroll !!!

It would be nice to believe that we can do something about it without first ridding ourselves of all the liars, cheaters, and scum.

But the better balance will never be seen when they have such overriding influence on any given topics.

I especially get good laughs at the people here , who are so naïve on every topic, like for instance:

"The Oil Companies are behind all the denying of REAL SCIENCE".

Likely they are BEHIND the science we are seeing, but these guys would never consider that.

Just like any real debates with a lot of money involved, it is important to control the scripts from every angle.

I do not believe for a SECOND that all SORTS of agendas are at play, but one thing I DO see, is a pattern that offers NOTHING BETTER, by buying into the SCIENCE that they say is showing us reality.

It is just as bad, as the alternative, I reject all of the agendas at play, THAT is what is going to happen, ALL the religions must be obliterated, even the ones pretending (some *unknowingly*) to be on the side of the righteous.

What I would take away is that while climate change is certainly happening, the doom porn surrounding it should be taken with a grain of salt.

To take the failure of worst case scenarios to have occurred as evidence that global warming is not occurring or is not a threat is nothing less than a promotion of ignorance.

Occurring? yes it is. global warming/cooling are a natural process and has been happen for many millions of years. Human involvement in this is very trivial when you think of he natural forces that are in play. Heat/energy input from the sun and volcanic action play much more of an input then we do. Just a few thousand years ago the volcanic contribution to weather change then we ever will.

Threat?
To the planet? not really. just look at the area around Chernobyl. The planet seems to be adapting fine even in the 30 years. 50,000 years from now the planet will not even know we existed.

To people living here? Maybe. We are a adaptable people. The Nile region was a vast green area that provided plenty of food 5-10,000 years ago. The Siberian tundra area would provide lots of food production if it was warmer.
The fact that people are dumb and tend to like to build cities on the worst possible locations is not the the planets fault. Why are many of the cities built on swamps, flood plains and river deltas? Yeh great flat areas, easy transport, but really BAD chooses if you really want to think about it.

Would love to see a comparison of what our car emissions are comparable to the methane output of a few hundred million bison.

That Global Warming is caused by humans is the single greatest HOAX ever perpetuated on mankind!

One TV station I get has been re-running classic shows from the 1970's.

Common themes? A recession that'll never end. Impending environmental disaster. The push for alternative energy. Clowns in Washington. Illegal immigrants. Out-of-control youth.

Some things never change....

How is me caring about the environment somehow equal to buying into doom porn? I have always loved nature and cared about it. Driving an electric car is cheap, I got a great deal on it, and it is very convenient for my situation. The electric lawn mower is just awesome. No deafening noise, no gas, no oil, no fumes, no repairs or maintenance every spring...why wouldn't you want one?

As far as having children goes I have nothing against it. I was using Hyperbole to point out that just because you don't believe in Climate Alarmist propaganda, doesn't mean you can't take care of the environment. I rarely see any of my extended family members or friends doing things to prevent the global warming they fear so much. The only things they seem to like to do is belittle people who don't blindly follow the agenda.

I'm sorry but tweeting about how the world is going to end and that we need to do something now, with a few clever hashtags about how dumb climate deniers are, is not helping anyone.

Seriously?

PEOPLE.... get informed by doing your own due diligence. RESEARCH!!!

Maybe... just MAYBE the prediction is a little off by months.. but not off the topic of discussion for later in the year nor is it off the table in regards to the SCIENCE of what is truly going on and how it has BEEN affecting us for years and in more than a few ways. It's getting worse!

Take note of all the changes people around the globe are seeing and feeling. Look to our nature. Animals are migrating in drastic numbers.

This isn't doom porn per say. It is REALITY.

Take a look at the information and decide for yourself but please do NOT do nothing and make assumptions without facts.

The fact is CLIMATE IS CHANGING.

THE FACT IS OCEANS ARE WARMING AND RISING.

THERE ARE PROFITS TO BE MADE WHEN THE ICE MELTS.

Check this thread out if you really want to begin understanding the threat.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

And please GOD forget about the cause and worrying of lables.

The only label these days should be... GLOBAL WARNING!

You site your opinion below the threat to people....

I agree.

Before it is too late though people should move or have a plan to move above sea level. Or... they can take their chances and worry with a plan when they are forced to.

Exactly. So it all comes down to the actual science, which when it comes to climate science, is far too corrupted to be saved.

You could take the data at face value, but we all know how easy it is to manipulate data. It all comes down to who you trust.

Its not even about trust anymore. lol

It's about seeing and believing. This isn't a myth or a debate anymore. The proof is seen in all species and water.

All one needs to do is open your eyes and watch the ice melt and climate change rapidly.

The rate at which this change can be seen is pretty dang fast.

The problem is people are wasting time arguing over the cause.

The raw data doesn't lie - A mash-up of clips from some sensationalist t.v. program doesn't discount the numbers. I don't know of any Climatologist that has claimed NYC will be underwater by 2015 - We are still a bit off from some of the more serious consequences, but if things continue to progress as they have, there will be a serious effect on the ecology of this planet within the next 100-200 years. It's all ready had an effect on weather patterns, on ocean currents, it's had a serious effect on numerous species of plant and animal life. The warming effect we are experiencing is but one symptom of a much more complicated, and seriously deadly problem we are facing.

I agree with all you stated except this below..

Raw data doesn't give us 100-200 years. Modest data give us 15 years. The data seems to be changing quicker than I can keep up with it.

Is there money to be made? HELL YEAH!

Is this a real threat and not just some doom porn woo woo crap? HELL YEAH

Is it caused by many things? We are in a debate... and while we debate causation the problem persists at an accelerating rate.
