What shape would you have it ? Long and sleek, with boom reducing fuselage. Short swept back wings at the rear ? Or do you reckon wide thin wings is still the way to go

Same planform, to do the same mission, just it would be able to go into more contested airspace safer.

The 80s rebuild was hugely ambitious, and wanted to build brand new aircraft completely out of composites, at a time when composites were hugely expensive.
