Deep conspiracies say Clinton "set up" a wall of retaliation to use if Gore lost the 2000 election.

You never know for sure.

Bush sure did ruffle many opposition feathers.

CIA releases memo showing agency blamed Bill Clinton for bankrupting war on terror ahead of 9/11

The Clinton administration had bankrupted the intelligence community and refused to let the CIA prioritize anti-terrorism over other major priorities in the late 1990s, leaving the agency stretched too thin in the days ahead of the 2001 terrorist attacks, former Director George J. Tenet said in a 2005 document declassified Friday.

Mr. Tenet, who was head of the agency at the time of the Sept. 11 attacks and has taken severe criticism for not anticipating and heading them off, said in the document that he took the threat of Osama bin Laden very seriously, and put major effort into trying to penetrate al Qaeda, beginning as far back as 1998.

In one revelation, Mr. Tenet says those efforts averted off an earlier “major attack” planned by al Qaeda for some time in 1999 or 2000. The document gives no other details.

Tenet is a liar. A professional liar. I'm no fan of Clinton but the CIA had everything it needed to stop 9/11.

well that's a conspiracy in itself.

Yep it would have.

Since Gore was such a 'hawk' on torture, and rendition.

IT would have all played out like it did.

But Bush administration critics don't care.

A true story: Several years ago, the CIA informed the White House counterterrorism adviser that it had located a wanted Islamic terrorist and requested White House guidance for how to proceed. The counterterrorism adviser recommended “extraordinary rendition” — snatching the terrorist in a covert operation and secretly whisking him away for interrogation in a foreign country. A White House lawyer demanded a meeting with the president to argue that this would be a violation of international law. In the Oval Office, the lawyer and the counterterrorism adviser argued their cases, when suddenly the vice president walked in. Hearing the lawyer’s objections, he said: “Of course it’s a violation of international law, that’s why it’s a covert action. The guy is a terrorist. Go grab his ass.’ ” The rendition was authorized.

The only thing in question would we have the current president we have now had Gore won.

Its really hard to take any of your provided opinion pieces as factual - - - as they are so extremely right.

The author of that opinion piece on Gore, Marc A. Thiessen, is a member of: The American Enterprise Institute:

The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) is a center-right[2] think tank based in Washington, DC. Its research is dedicated to issues of government, politics, economics and social welfare.

I'm one of the few that still believe that it was 19 terrorists from the Middle East that hijacked the planes and flew them into the world trade centers.

Unless perhaps the previous attack on them during Clintons reign was a psyop as well.

What do hijacked planes have to do with buildings vaporized beyond what a nuclear bomb could do ??

Answer, who the hell cares about the planes.

A bunch of terrorists , predominantly from Saudi Arabia decided to fly planes into the WTC . Who was president at the time has no bearing on this .

Again, what do planes flying into buildings really have to do with any of this ??

Why did it take 3 years and literally THOUSANDS of hours of programming to make people accept ludicrous ideas like kinetic energy storing and not releasing till the buildings fell.

And then the amazing logical leap that talcum powder is the result of most of said structures, how did it get so easy to fool the folks such as you ??

We are in way over our heads once we realize that people like you are actually unable to dictate reality, it is ALL dictated TO YOU.

Really? Training men to fly a plane needed the backing of governmental leaders? Paying for lessons required the financial backing of oil rich nations? All of it was easily in the hands of that cracked faction known as Al Qaida. They probably didn't plan on those buildings falling. There they just got lucky.

I'm talking about Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

9/11 would have gone ahead, as planned, whether it was Gore or Bush. Remember, those who really rule over global events have both US political parties on the payroll.

My research into the events of 9/11 has led me to firmly believe that the "inside job (IJ)" crowd is just a controlled opposition to the Official Story (OS) crowd. It is useful to have two polar opposite sides bickering while the real perpetrators can step back and not worry about any scrutiny.

I don't know exactly which subordinates were utilised to pull off 9/11, but you can be assured that the Global Elite were involved in the financing of the event.

That is an interesting statement which I have to agree on, participating nations seem to be America itself, Israel,
Saudi Arabia & Pakistan. Just remember you always have a fraction of opposition that is crazy, look at the birthers against Obama. Some truthers are crazy too. Most at ATS just want justice for the 3000 that died that day, and it hasn't happened at all.

The answer is no because Cheney and Runsfeld couldn't have pulled it off.

Why believe Gore would have completed his term?
Lieberman (memories of 'Is-it-Real support dominate) would have assumed the mantle and 9/11 would have been right on schedule.

Yes, it would have.

9/11 happened about 18 months into the Bush Presidency, meaning that it wasn't Bush policies that caused 9/11, planning was likely well underway well before the 2000 election.

The 1994 World Trade Center parkade bombs were widely seen as a "pre 9/11" attempt to bring down the towers, so this was planned well before 2000 election.

Gore wouldn't have had a significant enough impact on Middle East politics in the 18 months since the election to have changed it.

Huh? 9/11 happened less than 9 months into Bush's presidency. He took office in mid-January of 2001. The attack took place that September.

The fact is that the planning, financing and groundwork for this attack took place before Bush was ever elected or ever set foot in the White House. While NO ONE here can say with absolute certainty what would have or would not have happened in an alternate universe where Al Gore was president, I am very confident that the attacks would have still happened. All the same people and policies that allowed the attacks to happen would have still be in place whether it was Bush or Gore. There were so many missed opportunities that could have stopped or at least reduced the magnitude of these attacks. They were all missed and in another world they likely still would have been missed.

That's right. It was outlined in the neoconservatives book, plan for a new American century or something like that. They were looking for a new Pearl Harbor to ignite a fire of nationalism and get the public frothing at the mouth for revenge. Cathy Obrien in her book "tranceformation of America" claimed that Dick Cheney told her that when they gained power again they were going to start a war that would never end. Sure looks like that was what they did, although it will end eventually.

So I agree, it was already planned, Bush getting the presidency just allowed them to execute the plan.

If Gore had been elected it would have only slowed them down or if he was weak enough they might have pulled it off anyway. The democrats had their hands tied after 9/11 because any opposition to the war was met with attacks of, "Why do you hate America?" And the President himself said, "If you're not with us, you are against us".
Gore would have probably just had to go along or it would have just solidified republican power in the next election after which they would have done the same thing as they did under Bush.

It's a real American nightmare and we probably won't live long enough for the masses to see it in its true light but it will eventually happen.
