Fantastic, straight talking truth ridden post that makes a hell of a lot of sense won't have an easy time of it around here!

Quick point though if i may...Iran has not been the aggressor in any war for almost 300 years, not 30 as you said.

But let's face it, even 30 years for a country not attacking anyone is something of a record these days, let alone 10 times that long.

The reality is that a friendly, astute and 21st century industrial Iran IS a threat to Israel, but only inasmuch as it would mean a very real and present danger to the Israeli economy.

No more billions in aid, a strong competitor for technology exports and a strong voice in the region are all threats to Israeli hegemony...THAT is what they have been trying to avoid all these decades, the Israelis know full well if anyone is likely to start anything even approaching a nuclear war in the ME, it will be themselves, not Iran...but nothing scares open wallets and purses, especially Americans, (guilty conscience perhaps) quite as fast and effectively as the threat of annihilation in the ME by nukes.

It's about the money...always has been.

Maybe he should.
His word does carry a lot of weight for a lot of people. He's been famous for a very long time, and is practically an institution.
I don't agree with everything he believes, but I definitely understand him. And he knows people and how to talk to them.

He's out of touch just like Ted Nugent is.

They both think America is the greatest nation on earth..........based on when they think America actually was.

America is not the greatest, nor was it ever.......unless the only criteria for determining that is having freedoms no one else has.......just for the sake of it.

If you live in the US, please consider moving to Iran.

That is one of the most ignorant posts I've read on ATS for a long time. Its a hugely childish thing to say.

Do all people who disagree with you (with actual fact btw) have to leave "your" country?

God forbid anyone step on the other end of the political teeter-totter as all the Hollywood liberals who think government is in the business of solving problems. If Mr. Daniels has a fault it's in not realizing there is only 1 party - the party of the rich and the R and D divide is nothing but grandstanding and occasional comedy.

Perhaps we should listen to him because he's been paying attention and active in politics since before a lot of people on this board were born.
He has in the past supported Democrats.
He has in the past supported Republicans.
He has had quite an impact on the US music scene, has been through the vast changes of that world and has survived. He is admired and respected because he is a man of his word.
When you've accomplished those things---maybe you'll be able to spread your own brand of propaganda to sold-out 40k-seat venues.

...and then there's Bono, who has actual face to face interviews and the ears of world leaders, but I doubt he sings the same song as Charlie does.

As far as historical 'great nations' are concerned, I suppose the Greek, Chinese and Roman Empires are mere blips compared to America.

You bet, and I'll betcha he and Charlie could sit down and share a beer and find a load of things on which they agree. He's certainly taken his hits for activism but that hasn't kept either of them quiet has it?

I'm all for celebrities speaking their minds. Johnny Rotten did it on stage and had quite the effect, plus Neil Young continues his tirades against the Corporatocracy. In fact there's a large number of writers, movie stars and bands that are politically motivated, so I'm not knocking Nugent, Daniels or anyone else being outspoken on world affairs.

They have the moxie to be heard... good on them.

Why on earth are some deeply religious people so uncaring for others no matter their faith?

He's a bad Christian, ignorant of world affairs and blinkered from reality

Let me see if I can summarize this letter:

Blah blah, I'm a conservative Republican, blah blah, I ain't too bright (and I'm proud of it), blah blah, Obama sucks, blah blah, gays suck, blah blah, unions suck, blah blah, Iran sucks, blah blah, God bless 'Murica.

Yep, I think I pretty much nailed it.

Yah government, straighten up and fly right. Excpet they don't give a rats ass what the people think about what they are up to.

Especially the 'presider'. His main interest was to get elected so he could be the center of attention. His part of the bargain was to say and do what he's told.

When the president says "we" in his speeches, he does't mean you and me.

Thanks for posting this OP.

This was an eye-opener to be sure. I never realized how delusional, and out of touch with reality, Charlie Daniels really is.

"a letter posted by Pimpish" is your best?

He was referring to a letter by CD to Bush.

CD is entitled to his rants. He and Ted Nugent ought to paire up and throw their hats in the ring for 2016. Big yawn.

Why what he said about Iran is fact. Iran hasn't attacked another nation in over two centuries and America pushed Iraq to attack Iran. Also if Daniels had half a brain or at least the part that hasn't been fried by drugs and alcohol he would know if any nation is starting a nuclear arms race in the ME it's Israel and their illegal weapons program. Daniels is nothing but an old idiot that thinks a magical sky fairy will solve all our problems.

Not to be rude or disrespectful and certainly not in the spirit of hate, but Charlie Daniels should stick to music because he's got not much of value to say about politics. Case in point, the fawning over Bush in the letter posted by Pimpish.

In short, it's always lovely and cute when a celebrity Democratic supporter of the new messiah Obama is displayed as falling over in orgasmic shiverings....

Oh, such a Biblical moment, such trembling up the legs, such misty-eyed enamored fawnings...people cried and cried and cried that night.....

Oh, such the epiphany you had when the light shown through that window and the voice on the wind said "vote for Obama".

Let's go back to 2007, exactly WHAT did he offer when he said Hope and Change?

posted on Jun, 13 2015 @ 09:22 AM
It defies all rational logic that people still follow this president and consider him the "Messiah". After nearly 7 years of deceit and lies , do nothing but campaign , destroy our image on the global stage , weaken the economy and our country in general , divide the country , bow down to our enemies and disrespect our friends , I ask why ? If you are in the US and agree to the above you may want to consider renouncing your citizenship and moving to your "promised land" country of choice.
I agree with CD completely . He did not go far enough though.

And this from someone that voted for him the first time.
