I don't know what makes me more upset. Her lying or the folks that will defend her lies.

Our Country is in a world of hurt and our people think everyone is a special snowflake that deserves a participation trophy.

I'm soooo sick of the ends justify the means attitudes of people.

And besides this issue, black women suffrage ect and whatever has set sail a good while back. Its just like some old dead horse that has been stuffed and propped up on stage somewhere.

My point is a white guy coloring his skin and identifying himself as black and living the thug life as a black male.

You mean a dude, disguised as a dude, playing another dude?

At least you didn't come in with some faux enlightened variation of "I don't see race" *eyeroll*

I am waaaaay to un-politically correct to take that tact.

Hell, I am thinking I how I can game the system by starting my own minority owned business now that I found out I came from Africa too.

I'm gonna see if I can get a tax exempt status for my business. Ya know, because of my Irish, Welsh, Indian, Mason, Ginger, Redneck and short heritage...

Don't forget the short heritage. That's definitely the winner of the bunch.

I'm acting confused because you're tap dancing around the question.

Never mind.

How am I tap dancing around the question?

1. I said I don't have a problem with white people coloring their skin. Check.

2. I said I don't have a problem with people adopting hip hop culture. Check.

3. I said I don't have a problem with someone claiming they're "black" since it's just a man-made term meant to divide & oppress socially undesirable people. Check

4. However, I also said I only have a problem when they're "black" while receiving their perceived benefits of being "black", but suddenly remember they're "white" during hard times.

5. And I also said that part wasn't a race issue, but a "backstabbing" issue.

So what exactly am I refusing to answer? I addressed each part of your 2 questions.

The president of the Free State Project (a project every ATS user should learn about if they don't know) is an African American woman. She is also very white! She immigrated to the US from South Africa.

No, no she's just transracial. She identifies as black, therefore she IS black, right?
Not only that, she deserves her own bathroom - or something...I dunno, I give up.

She did lie. Repeatedly.
She specifically lied, even on the NAACP Facebook page, and to reporters.
If someone lied on MY org's FB page, they'd be DONE. Anyone? No?
Most jobs, that's grounds for dismissal.
Apparently, not this one.
The director says she's all good.
Race War another 10 points, racially sensitive Americans, 0.
Time to loot our friends and neighbors! No? Oh...ok. That's a first.

Apparently the NAACP is waiting till Monday to make their decision on the issue, at least according to Rachel Dolezal.

www.msn.com...

"I support their decision to wait until Monday to make a statement. The Executive team asked that I also release my response statement at the same time, which will be during the 7-9 p.m. monthly membership meeting."

Some prominent African Americans are not happy.

www.nationaljournal.com...

From an interview with the former editor of Jet and Ebony Mitzi Miller:

"It takes more than a haircut to be Black. It takes more than being married to a black man to be Black. You can be empathetic and respectful of a culture without appropriating and impersonating it."

There's something wrong here. There's no need to impersonate a black person to be empathetic. She has negated all the work she ever did while at the NAACP by the revelation that she was masquerading as a black woman. She could have accomplished the same things by being herself and collaborating in the efforts she believed in. Her deception creates a veneer of falsehood that cannot easily be removed.

"That question is not as easy as it seems... There's a lot of complexities … and I don't know that everyone would understand that... We're all from the African continent."
