Sometimes I wish I could get away with it, but I can't pull it off. She took it up a level so she could.

Likely not, but if she has discriminated against anyone NOT of color then it will be a big problem. My guess is she just REALLY wanted to identify herself with blacks and did in a very strange way. Likely started as her trying to fit in then progressed to where she felt she needed to look the part as well....in order to more easily be accepted into the culture. Trouble is she is skirting the question and lying about actually BEING black.

I would be hard pressed to believe that if they order a psych eval that she would pass it....there is something off with her I think.....solely my opinion based on the story and watching her interviews.

This is a shame for various reasons. She is a very talented artist, go check out her blog. She also seems very accomplished HOWEVER I have to wonder how much a career boost she's gotten from lying about her heritage - she is on record claiming she is Black and Native American. I know from working in the art field there are numerous opportunities through grants and fellowships as well as exhibitions that are devoted to minority artists. She gets the triple whammy there: African American/Native American/Female.

Building your career through being disingenuous is pretty sad, especially when you are actually talented. I'll be watching to see if anybody starts asking for their grant money or awards back due to misrepresenting herself. There's no question she is White, both her parents are White but they did adopt several Black children which no doubt made it much easier for her to make the claim of being a minority.

Eta: She has claimed to have been the victim of hate crimes no less than 8 times. Last time there was hate mail in her box which the postmaster said could have only been put in there by someone with the key (or a postal employee). Another incident was regarding a deer hanging rope she claimed someone put up on her house however her landlord said it was an old deer rope he used for hanging and dressing deer. Seems she's a serial liar as well as a certified diversity specialist and Community Organizer
