And I guess its purely the attraction to the planet that keeps the dust around the planet? Or is it gravity?

Both. It is Saturn's gravitational attraction that keeps the ring in near Saturn, and the ring's rotation speed that keeps it orbiting (as opposed to falling into) Saturn.

Well the Sun is probably making a small pull on it. But Saturn is much a closer mass (remember that gravity diminishes with the distance).

Wouldn't it be logical to assume the Jupiter would have a similar, large extended outer ring like this? A google search didn't turn up any results.
