Ah, the joys of being a trucker.

Yeah, in case of trouble you just pull over and stop, and walk out of there.

Well yes, there's that advantage. But you guys get to go over and around that storm that has a tendency to knock us on our side.

Yeah we do.
As tis thread is about weather related SNAFU i'm not gonna mention all the other dangerous situations you could run into inside a pressurized metal tube.
I just did? Sorry.

And I'd much rather be in that pressurized metal tube 9 times out of 10.

Believe me, the safest place to be is on the ground.

Oh, I know. But I got bitten by the flying bug at a very early age and never got to scratch the itch the way I wanted to. It still itches.

The Midwest has gotten absolutely hammered by rain this year. I've seen it flooded before but never to the extent that it has been this year. I went through Glenwood Springs Colorado last week, and the water in the river was actually over part of the bike path that runs alongside it. This latest batch of rain to hit there caused a significant landslide. Parts of Nebraska, the fields are underwater a long way from the nearest water source.

Me on a 2000 SeaDoo XP, fishing. And that is the Hellinois River. River is up pretty good right now and rising fast.

There is a creek(crick for my fellow rednecks) that runs behind my house that dumps into the River and it's a flowing. It's about a mile and a half run to the River. Been thinking about toss my kyack in and making a run, but it looks pretty sketchy for even my redneck ass! And when I think something is sketchy, it's nowhere near safe!

Still may end up doing it, wife's out shopping and it's hot and sunny right now!

Another big one is headed our way and it's from the North.

Hell of a light show for the last hour.

Keep your heads up my Southern friends...
