A heads up from the middle of Hellinois....

A big ole storm has moved in. Weather channel isn't showing anything nasty...

I'm in E. Peoria Hellinois and when storms come from the North, they're wicked for my Southern friends. This one looks bad,so I'm just giving a heads up.

Keep a watchful eye my Southern friends!

The wind and lightning is impressive! No rain to speak of though....

This storm is gonna land a bit South of us. Don't get caught off guard.

I still want my southern friends to be aware, what I'm seeing is rough.

Well, just fabulous! I'm in the Charleston/Mattoon area visiting, and I hate IL weather! I'm literally in the middle of a cornfield with horrible internet service as is. No way to keep up with the weather if it gets real bad.

That's another name for the "State of Chicago," isn't it?

Visiting my old birthplace in downstate Lincoln Land last summer I heard a disgruntled person refer to Chicago that way.

Lost a couple trees last night. One smashed my utility trailer. I'll get some pics posted later.

Actually, it is Southern Illinois that is referred to as Egypt, or Little Egypt today. You might find this article interesting... New Egypt

Hey NeighboR! We got hit pretty hard here last night. After that storm rolled through, we took a drive towards the storm/followed it and got some cool Lightening vids. Well she said she got some good ones, I haven't seen them yet...

I am from Rockford Hellinois, but moved to LA going on 8 years now. I remember the days of huge storms to rolling in. I miss the rain, but not the clean up.

Now I just have to watch out for shakers, we have not had one in my area for a couple of months. I am sure one will hit soon.

Another bad one is about to roll through. Alerts are flashing on the TV now.

It looks like it's coming from the West though. Well, North West. They still seem ugly from that direction.

My apologies. I had Egypt stuck in my head, and didn't realize you were referring to Hellinois. "State of Chicago". I like that one too. Lol.

I had to drop a trailer in a yard in Georgia the other night with a thunderstorm in the area. I got out and got ready to start cranking the landing gear down, and just stood there looking at all that metal around me, and the lightning flashing nearby for a minute.
