I loathe summer, too. Southern summer in particular. I grew up on the Gulf Coast in FL, which isn't the hottest region in the state, but is still
miserable regardless. Summer highs in the high 90's, humidity above 80%, gag me. If that doesn't make you say "eff it, I'm staying home", the heat
index will. I've put up with it as high as 119* down there (heat index, not actual temp)
Now through August is a real sucky time to live in FL, even the A/Cs are begging for relief. I mean, it's gross & humid & hot all the time, save for
about 6 weeks or so in mid-winter when there's intermittent stretches of a few 50's-60's for high temps, but summer is hell. There's always been a
joke about FL seasons, "FL has just 2 seasons: Hot & Hotter/OMG/WTF/LOLRUKiddingMe/etc".
Now that we've moved up north, I'm actually liking this version of summer. It's still hot to me (I really dislike temps above 60*) But it's only been
around 85* a few times since spring sprung, and the humidity stays around 40-60% depending on whether or not there's rain around. It, by comparison,
is paradise to me. I'll take an 80*, 25% humidity summer day over a FL summer day ANY TIME.
But truth be told, I'm still looking forward to winter. The below zero temps last winter really weren't all that bad, this tropical beach kid handled
